Well, a rather large tournament in Madrid just finished with a Bossk/Palob/Dace list taking first (out over 150 players), so I wouldn't worry too much about taking a super-meta list and just fly what you're comfortable with.

I've been trying to make Scum work, as it's the one faction I've not ever really taken to an event. But so far it's really not working well at all.

Cool, it will be my first international X-wing event. I bought my tickets yesterday.

I went Scum for Store Champs yesterday and came 7th, having never played the list before - respectable, I think. It was a bit off-meta:

Prince Xisor w/ Virago, Autothrusters, Predator & Advanced Sensors

Syndicate Thug w/ Twin Laser Turret

3x Binayre Pirate

Took me a couple of games to get the hang of playing it (although I only lost game 1 by 10 points), but in games 3 and 4 I did a decent job of giving X-Wing Aces and Soontir/TIE-FO Aces, going 100-24 and 100-0. Xisor was a star. The only game I lost him in was the second, where I got mullered by Brobots. The StarViper may not be a popular choice, but it was bloody effective.

My point? If Scum isn't working for you so far it might be worth trying something unusual...

Where are you coming over from?

A bunch of the guys from around London & Bristol (myself included) went over the Nordic Nationals in Copenhagen, Denmark last year. It was great fun, would thoroughly recommend international X-Wing

Got my tickets, been to UK Games Expo Xwing these past three years, really good events. 512 players will be enormous, the UK Nationals there had 132 players last year and it sold out in minutes

167 still left, so that's 345 players so far! Crazy!

Still not decided on a list for the main event.

Hangar Bay/s I'll defo be running a Jumpmaster list. Just need to decide if it's 2 or 3 (I pre-ordered 3 last night, like a total idiot )

What about the second Hangar Bay list?

I'm thinking of themed lists for funsies. Ghost + Attack Shuttle + 2 Prototype Pilots and Inquisitor + TIE swarms. Main event... no idea.

As it has be a diff faction, I'm not sure what I'd go for. Maybe an older Imperial list that I loved flying but haven't in over a year. Or just a Ghost/Phantom build with loads of upgrades.
