Barrage Talent Question

By exceta, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I was wondering what everyone's ruling is when using the Barrage Talent from the Bodyguard or Heavy spec on a Heavy Repeating Blaster (like the E-Web) that has been mounted by the group on the back of a speeder or skiff? Would you allow the talent to be used in that case? And if yes, would you allow (by extension) vehicles with default mounted weapons to use the talent?

I would lean towards yes on all of the above. I have read that Anatomy Lessons is a counter to that argument, but couldn't you say that it would work for vehicle as well since you could "see" the person that your shooting at and their anatomy? So non-starship/vehicle means non-starship or vehicle?

And if no, what would be a good role play example explaining the reasoning.

Thanks!

If the weapon is at the appropriate range from the target (Long or Extreme), and the weapon requires the use of the Ranged Heavy or Gunnery skills, then IMO the Barrage talent is applicable. I don’t think it matters if the weapon is mounted or not, or how it’s mounted.

The only question in my mind is whether the Barrage talent can be applied to starship weapons that use the Gunnery skill as well. Given that there is an Ace Gunner in AoR with specific talents to assist with firing shipboard weapons, my guess would be no.

However, I would love to hear discussion on both sides of that question.

It applies to personal scale weapons. So the mounted E Web is fine as it is a personal scale weapon.
