I'm putting together a list that is all about regeneration. All of them have Miranda + TLT and then two ships with R2-D2 and R5-P9. But which ships and in what configuration I can't decide.
Option 1- E-Wings
I've flown this once with two Knave Squadron Pilots and FCS. No one expects generic E-Wings, especially two of them. So I really liked that side of it. The E-Wings are fast which helped the one carrying R5-P9 blast away after his shields were stripped so he could spend a few rounds recovering. They also have three agility which is nice compared to the T-70's. Two die attacks become much less threatening. And at PS1 they work well as blockers.
But they also are fairly fragile. One took a Crit and he got lucky it wasn't a Direct Hit.
Option 2- Poe + Knave Squadron
For the cost of one Knave and both FCS you can get Poe in the list. He doesn't have any upgrades except R5-P9 (and Integrated) but he's still Poe. So PS8 and an ability that jives with R5 much better. You still have a PS1 blocker who has R2-D2 and can therefore block and regenerate at the same time.
Option 3- Super Poe + Blue T-70
This option trades out the overpriced E-wing for a PS2 T-70 and gives those extra points to Poe in the form of VI and Autothrusters. Now Poe is at full strength. But it's a very different list from the original. Gone are the underused E-Wings and in is the often used Poe.
Option 4- Two Blue T-70's + Chewie and Adv SLAM on Miranda
This one goes down to two more generics in exchange for more survivability on Miranda. Miranda is the more versatile of the group and will receive more fire with only generic X's on the board.
Option 5- Red Ace + Gold Y with R5-D8
I'm just being silly now. R5-D8 is nice in theory. But spending an action to maybe recover a damage card isn't great. Especially on a Y-wing who will be taking a lot of damage. But Red Ace with Autothrusters and Comm Relay is very annoying to take down.
Thoughts? I think the more unexpected but still effective list is Option 1 while Option 2 is the most versatile and Option 3 is the generally more competitive. Not sure which I'd rather fly and which would work best over all.
