I feel the Wedge fanboys just don't get it: Space Wizard! Force Choke! How do you out fly a guy who kills with his mind?

In canon: Vader
In game: Vader
This coming from a Rebel at heart.
I feel the Wedge fanboys just don't get it: Space Wizard! Force Choke! How do you out fly a guy who kills with his mind?
Vader fanboys don't get it: Wedge literally did the thing you just described. Vader shot down every other pilot in the trench. Wedge only took a major hit. This was literally a shooting gallery and Vader couldn't down him.
Plus being able to kill with your mind doesn't do squat in ship vs. ship combat.

I guess with all those advantages there's no way wedge could escape vader, especially when vader has the drop on him in a narrow corridor, why, it would take an incredible pilot to escape that alive, one of truly legendary skills beyond compare.
I'm gonna come out and say it, the reason vader wasn't in his fighter at endor was because he was afraid of wedge.

The comics (which are cannon) show Vader's ship getting wrecked. I don't think he gets a replacement so he couldn't if he wanted to.

Too bad the little old rag tag empire couldn't possibly have found another ship

It was a prototype to be fair. I'm sure another would have been on order but never got to Vader before Endor. That and the fact he had better/more important things to be doing at Endor them hunting down Wedge who he probably never heard of.

1) yup, no other ships at all exist, it's a shame that vader didn't get to prove that it doesn't matter what ship he flies.
2) Everyone in the imperial navy has heard of wedge antilles

Wasn't there a guy, I forget his name, that Vader was supposed to bring to his boss, again I forget the name... ummm. Yes, Emperor Palpatine. That's it. Vader was supposed to bring Chase Starrunner to Emperor Palpatine. Wait... That's not right either. I know it was a minor character, but I should know the name. Yes... Luke Skywalker. That's his name! Vader was supposed to bring Luke Skywalker before Palpatine and convert him to the dark side instead of tooling around the battle with the 10,000 other TIE Fighters. It's not like they had the rest of the fleet around anyway...
While were're at it, wasn't Chewie the real hero of the Battle of Endor? The Rebels and Ewoks were getting their butt's kicked until Chewie commandeered an AT-ST and took out other AT-STs and blew the blast door to the shield generator. Without him, every Rebel dies or is captured.
Looks like cannon is the new ordinance. ![]()
Light Side for life, dawg! But I have to give it to Vader.
Going off of current canon, Wedge is a good pilot who manages to not get shot down/crash in several big battles. Vader is an absolute terror (as in Clone Wars / Rebels).

Well, there were a few years between ANH and ESB, there must've been time to bring a new copy around.

4 years between ANH and RotJ to be precise.
Being the best WITHOUT force-sensitive mary sue bantacrap is something to be admired of, so
CHEESE WEDGE FOR THE WIN!
Before Rebels and some books being removed from cannon I would have said Wedge hands down.
Glad the first Friday Fights was enjoyed by so many. I'll post a new one next Friday!
****, I wasn't on the forums for ages and I missed this thread.
Right, let's get cracking.
Anakin was once 'the best star-pilot in the galaxy' because we saw him do spinning, that's a good trick!
But remember, he's now 4 limbs down and 20 years older. Wedge is in peak physical condition, with all of his limbs and lighting reflexes.
Battle of Yavin
Darth Vader gets way too much credit for his work here. All he has to do it shoot down slower, less manuverable craft that have no way to directly engage him, before they can even make the attempt to fire torpedoes at a 2m wide ray-shielded exhaust port.

And he can't even shoot these sitting ducks without spraying laser fire all over the Trench! It's a good thing he's got that Advanced Targeting Computer, I'm not sure a regular one would be enough for ol' Darth Parkinson here.
Meanwhile, Wedge blasts Dark Curse, Chaser and numerous ground targets, with no force, no ridiculous accuracy correcting shenanigans, just courage and pilot skill.
Battle of Endor
Wedge nails TIE after TIE, is first into the Death Star, and blows up the power generator.

Meanwhile Vades is chickening out by pulling a 'bring your kid to work day'.
