Anyone tried 1 Rebel player controlling 3 Heroes?

By Falesh, in Imperial Assault Campaign

From all I have read controlling 4 heroes seems like the best from a balance perspective. The trouble is that means dealing with a lot of cards in total for all the heroes which sounds like it would get overwhelming, especially to someone who isn't a dedicated gamer. On the other hand controlling two makes them very powerful and extremely mobile.

As a compromise between the two extremes using 3 heroes seems fairly attractive. The +3 health is nice but isn't a huge change. The double activation makes one hero very fast, but if they sprint off the other two single activation heroes will be left behind.

Has anyone played the campaign with 3 heroes and can offer their thoughts about it?

Just started that in a mini-campaign. Saska, Biv, and Fenn. First mission went very well. The changing activation token and extra 3 health really made a big difference.

It helps to be able to move the activation token. Biv gets two activations when adjacent to multiple enemies, saska gets two activations when she picks up a token and has to run past enemies to activate a terminal. Fenn takes the second token when he's a better option than either of the others. Worked wonderfully.

You could be insane like me and control 4 (or more!) rebels *AND* the imperials for playtesting purposes.

Or, im just lonely.

I do this often.

However, I have also been through a few campaigns with my friend where one plays the Imperials and one plays all four Rebels. It's easy to miss a particular skill or ability that way, but we both feel the game is more balanced with four heroes.
