Pathfinder question

By Jurge Hasgarson, in Battlelore

Hello!

I have a question concerning the pathfinder skill. It allows a hero on foot to move an additional hex and to pass terrain without restriction.

The cards text does not refer to champions or leaders in special, so the question is: may a leader AND his unit move also an additional hex and ignore movement restrictions?

Another question is about a leader on foot, who is allowed to join cavalry due to a skill cards (whose name i forgott).

What is the movement speed of the combined unit? Two hexes, as the leader is on foot, or the movement speed of the cavalry unit?

Thanks in advance,

Jurge

Is this quite clear to everybody but me? Or is it unclear to everybody? In any case: it is a serious question i have.

The skill you are probably thinking of is Horse Vaulter. A Hero on Foot has a 2 hex movement as a Champion (page 4 Champion Movement), but as a Leader, as Hero always assumes the movement of the unit lead. Given the name of the skill is Horse Vaulter, the implication is that the Hero rides double with one of the mounted troops.

The Path Finder question is a little tougher, as I could not find a direct reference. Reading the card it states "Your [whatever] Hero on foot...". Looking through the other cards I see some that say "Your [whatever] Champion...", which clearly indicates it only works when the Hero is a Champion, and "Your [whatever] Leader...", which clearly indicates it only works when the Hero is a Leader. That tells me that "Your [whatever] Hero..." applies in either Champion or Leader role.

Thoughts?

Agree with the denotation of Hero, Leader and Champion. Hero encompasses both, whilst the others are specific.

Also concur with the movement riles for Leaders equaling the unit they are with.

When a card states Hero does indeed encompasses both a Hero acting as a Champion or a Hero acting as a leader.

Horse Vaulting allows a Hero on foot to join and lead a mounted unit. The leader on foot will move at the same movement speed as the mounted unit he is no leading.

Enjoy!
