The kzinti were in the animated series. The cartoon stole them from Larry Niven. (The lyrans might gave been mentioned there too, I'm not sure).
Stole might be a bit harsh, seeing as Larry Niven was a guest writer for those particular episodes.

It could but then it would get missed by a ton of people who don't read that thread. I would venture to guess that a large majority of the posters here never go to that thread. I pretty much never follow it and I even enjoy Rebels for the most part. I for one hadn't heard this news/rumor and wouldn't have found it in your thread.
And since you feel the need to tell people where their posts should go perhaps we should point out that your Rebels discussion thread should have gone in the Off-topic forum.

I still say that Disney isn't going to eradicate lots of good characters. They might delete plot lines, but they have a huge stable of potential characters to use for all sorts of new story lines to come out. Dengar still flies the Punishing One, but he's perhaps not done all the things from the EU. Thrawn is a great character and I'm sure they will use him, but maybe not in the same plot as the book series. Or....maybe they will....if he's done well in Rebels and other stuff.
