The Shadows Mark OOC
Ok Krogan pilot, she wants to make a vigilance check to see if she can react fast enough to the moving hazards of the road, sound ok? Can't think of anything to do with the maneuver.
I don't know a difficulty, perhaps average upgraded with 2 setback, fast moving lots of hazards and 4 Krogan firing out the window?
The bikes are speeding up to speed 2, and will attempt a perception again to look for shortcuts, Easy Upgraded with 2 setback, the 2 vehicles they are following make it easy, but the risk of unseen danger is real and they are traveling fast
SOunds good to me
Staying Vigilant on the road : 1eA+2eP+1eD+1eC+2eS 1 failure, 1 advantage, 1 Triumph
So no downgrade, but a boost to the bikers perception, and a crazy idea that will Upgrade his next piloting check
Perceptive riding to catch the pack : 2eA+1eB+1eC+2eS 1 success, 1 advantage
The advantage will be to boost their Pilot check.
Larik and Naught up next, no more setback on attacks for the Crit, first one gets a boost
Difficulty to huck a grenade at the truck? Is it still just C?
Yep, just a C
OK, taking strain to aim twice, and adding in the boost from Prophyt to toss a plasma grenade at the truck.
So blast will hit the Krogan inside, speeder takes 1 HT, 2 Krogan fall off through sheer shock and KO on the ground, left behind, a third gets burn marks on its face and body. the driver curses and winces at the same time, but keeps on driving, for now.
Edited by RichardbuxtonSo Naught has a Wilderness Survival Kit, and according to the F&D rulebook, that includes an emergency flare gun. She's going to pull that out and fire it just across the nose of the speeder, attempting to blind and panic the driver with the sudden bright light streaking towards them. I'm guessing that will probably be a Ranged: Light check at a base DD difficulty, but I imagine you will want to apply modifiers to that.
I can't think of a legitimate reason to make it harder, so I'll flip a DP, making it DC.
Well, I got a couple of advantages: Flare Gun : 2eA+1eD+1eC 0 successes, 2 advantage
Good call. Ok it's Chase Piloting check time.
Bikers chase competitive check:
Perceptive riding to catch the pack : 3eA+1eB+2eD 2 successes, 1 advantage
Speeder pilot check:
chase drive check : 3eP+1eB+1eD+1eC 1 failure, 2 advantage
Will looks like the bikes are at least overtaking the speeder. Bet let's see what Queg gets, that will be a DD difficulty for him
I hate trucks! : 5eA+1eB+2eD 2 successes, 3 advantage
Lol this is becoming the most drawn out chase in Star Wars history.
1 Advantage to boost next Ally, other 2 to setback next enemy
And it's probably happening at 10 miles per hour (16 kmh for our metric-using friend). haha
So aside from volunteering to run a campaign, did killakan's opening post for the OOC thread have anything important in it?
Can't remember! There where 10 PC's, that was significant.
Yeah, be advised that once you start advertising, you might get quite a lot of people scrambling to play. You might want to come up with some criteria or system that you'll use to select players ahead of time, just so you can be up front with it. I really wouldn't recommend trying to have ten players in the game at once.
It was definitely a bit seat of the pants. I'd recommend checking out the recruitment thread for the other PbP I'm in. It was kind of the exact opposite, and maybe a bit too regimented, but it gives you a couple of ideas to consider. Check out what Richard did with the Bombad Bombardiers too. You'll get the idea. But yeah, you definitely want to limit it to probably no more than six. It can get unruly quickly.
Hmm...pre-selection, eh?
I know all about limiting numbers. My local group got a little crazy for a while. We had to set group limits at 5 just to keep the GMs from going crazy. There's a bit of a loose agreement that one of the other experienced players will bow out to start another group if there's enough interest, but so far no one's had to do that.
Also, don't get so involved that you don't have time for this game. We just got it off life support. LOL.
Oh really?
I had no idea
Now that we're back at the top, I can't wait to see what kind of hijinks Whafrog's about to pull. That's my nomination for first PC slot this round, plus will get the boost from Kaigen's last check.
I took Kaigen's boost, but provided one of my own
