Which wire? : 3eA+1eD+1eC 1 success

So far so good...

Kaigen:

Ok so you take a minute or 2 to go over the different cabinets and labels, you identify the generator systems, and figure out a way to re-terminate their connections to get the power the door will require. When you do the work then most of the systems will be shut down, only the hanger lights will stay on.

The next Mechanics check is going to be Average as well, but due to the risks of electrocution there will be an upgrade and the dark cupboards the equipment is within will add 2 Setback. Help here would be advised, and a torch or similar would be useful too.

Everyone else:

The small birds sound to be very close now, possibly in the room below, then with a jarring crunch something large slams into the internal door that Naught closed minutes ago.

Did the thermal detonators come with a detonator switch?

Hmm, looks at Destiny Pool, I was thinking of them like grenades with a button on them to start a timer. But I'll listen to any arguments you have to support a detonator switch.

I assume you mean a remote way to detonate don't you?

That's correct. Well, I can only recall thermal detonators being used twice in the film. Once with a switch on the device and once as demo charges and a handheld switch. I argue that since I specified the Triumph being Queg found a demolitions satchel of thermal detonators, they should have a handheld detonator switch with them.

Not to mention, you said that they were "smaller charges...the equivalent of 2 TDs", not actually thermal detonators

Yeah ok, that's fair. So there is a remote detonator that can be programmed to set off one or more of the charges. Range is decent, so you could get well beyond extreme if necessary.

I want to place both charges near enough to the door that something barreling through will come right up to them in their movement through the door, but far enough away that the doors don't destroy the charges when they get ripped open/down

So this is the internal door your talking about? That will be an Easy Mechanics check to place them, with a single setback for the time pressure your under.

I'm thinking Detonating them will be a Cool check, against the targets defences with the normal Average difficulty of an engaged attack. The Mechanics check could modify the difficulty. Success will grant the Linked 1 quality to the check.

Placing the boom-booms : 2eA+1eD+1eS 1 success, 2 threat

Ok as you withdraw from the explosives the first in a dense pack of birds scampers up the wreckage in the hole, racing to leap up into the hanger.

Larik will keep his lightsaber out, but also get out his glow rod and hold it up for Naught so she can see what she's doing.

Lalam is at the hole, trying to deny them entry. Is it initiative time?

Naught has Scanner Goggle, which help her see in the dark normally. Will that remove some of the setback from the check?

Ok remove all setback

Initiative now too, Cool for all PC's

Yeeesh, Cool...

From the far side of the heavy internal doors you hear a huge bellowing roar, then the sound of rending metal and the doors begin to buckle and open partly.

In the midst of the room a swarm of feathered creatures leap out of the pit toward Lalam:

8 Damage before soak, may i suggest spending 3 Threat to have them fall back into the hole?

That's 4 wounds total. I'm assuming by "fall back into the hole" it just means they didn't clear the rim, but I can still reach them?

Since all our turns are subsequent, I'll go if nobody minds. I palm my vibroblade (Quick Draw) and Aim twice...is there any boost for their position?

You don't have to push them back down the hole, but its an option, you could just "knock them prone" at your feet, though its more like your scattering them. do they need to make a fear check for engaging Lalam?

If you do knock them prone then its a Boost to attack, they have no defence, there is a lot of them, but they are small.
