That charm check will inflict 2 Strain on the target (Naughts Presence + Success - Targets Discipline) [i think he has 2 Discipline!] it's a method I have used in the past if it's ok with everyone.

EDIT: Using influence to create feelings of friendliness in the lead guy and the pip to activate the base power inflicting a strain on him and using the 3 advantage (1 from roll, 2 from loom) to heal 3 of my own.

So if my math is right I do 6 more points of strain to him (4 presence+3 success-2 his discipline +1 influence). Yeah?

You know, up until this morning, I completely forgot about Naught having that Influence upgrade to apply her Force Rating. At any rate, since she is talking up the value of the "service" they can provide in exchange for weaponry, I'm thinking this is more of a Negotiation check. Will the officer be opposing it with Cool or Negotiation?
