The Shadows Mark OOC

I checked it out briefly. I'll give it another look and PM you thoughts.

Larik will work on disguising the line while it's being placed to save time. Rather than a pilot check to hide the truck, what if Naught used move on it to push it over and we detonate it with a grenade to fake a crash like Whafrog suggested? That might cause even more of a distraction for them. Combine that with Naught acting as bait and we should be able to pull this off.

Maybe to set the line Naught and Lalam can do some sort of hybrid mechanics/streetwise check. Or one makes a Mechanics, the other makes a streetwise and the combined total of successes, failures, etc. determine the outcome? That's a little off the wall I realize.

Would that not take too many checks to complete?

Deception is very borderline, I understand the idea of essentially mind tricking them, but Deception relies so much on actual communication that they would need to see you or hear you. Perhaps if you where to try to distract them at just the right moment that would work. Picture them riding around the corner, at the last second you call out and they turn to look at you, completely forgetting to look where they are going. But I think it's a high risk high reward scenario, so the difficulty will reflect that

Using Misdirect would be a much easier and less risky technique.

I guess it depends on if we're still in initiative and combat structured time. Obviously we're under a time crunch, but I thought we're technically out of initiative. I'm just tossing out ideas.

Definitely out of initiative, but time is of the essence, enough threat or despair could delay the setup so they arive too soon. I'll not set a specific time of limit but let the dice decide.

You could always drop the people, truck takes off again and goes in a big circle, then returns to the trap where the others have gotten things ready with more time to prepare, could be risky for whoever stays in the truck...

Are the Krogan we saved (or more appropriately are in the process of saving) familiar with the area? Potentially adding boosts or reducing setbacks? And frankly are they willing to help?

These guys are quite in shock, shown a bit of leadership they may be of use to you.

So...who has Leadership skills? Lol

Aww no one, but Larik has the highest Presence

And influence.

And what would be the difficulty of said leadership check? I also think I know where the 10 XP i have banked are going. It makes narrative sense to take a rank in leadership at this point I think, even if it's kind of costly.

Naught could potentially jump in with a Leadership check as well. She only has 3 Presence, but has 3 force rating she can employ with Influence and Kill with Kindness to remove a setback from the roll.

ETA: We probably don't want to wreck the truck, as we won't be able to carry the Krogan we rescued with us on our speeder bikes.

Question. Of a Speeder bike has Crew 1 (pilot) and Passenger 1, does that still mean it can only hold the pilot or can it carry one additional person?

I always read the passenger rating as being in addition to the crew, as there are some ships that require more crew than they have passenger space.

If that's the case, Queg's speeder bike can carry 1 passenger

By the by, Prophyt, I liked the opening crawl. Although, being the sort of player I am, my first question would be "Can I play one of the archaeologists?"

I suppose that could be an option. The PCs would be super lost otherwise. Not to mention ranks in Underworld knowledge and contacts would be useless

Leadership difficulty is Easy with 3 setback for time pressure, communications barrier & their unwillingness to act

I agree that crew and passengers are separate so the bike has a pinion seat, can have 2 people on it at once.

Perhaps Larik could assist Naught with a Leadership check and loan an extra die?

A boost sure, skilled assistance you don't have time for

Fair enough. I could go either way as far as who makes the check and who assists. Larik probably has better odds, but Naught might be able to mitigate threat more easily using Influence.

I could Coerce those little roaches into action... Unfortunately Loom doesn't work with Leadership.

Go for it Kaigen. The boost can be from Larik's previous positive interaction with them. And him smiling and nodding helpfully.

Naught might be able to mitigate threat more easily using Influence.

And your rank of Kill with Kindness.

This is Larik, standing just behind Naught.

Here we go:

Do the thing! : 3eA+1eB+1eD+2eS+3eF 4 successes, 2 threat, 3 Light Side, 1 Dark Side
Okay, I'm definitely using two LS points to add advantage and cancel out those threats. Am I getting all the Krogan as a package deal, or do I need additional advantage to convince more of them to join in? Because otherwise I could just throw my third pip in as another success to make this willingness to support us last longer.
