I have been playing the GoT Board Game with some friends for a while, and just received the card game as a birthday present. The box says the GoT Card game is for 1-4 players, yet I keep seeing material for up to 6 players... Can it be played with 6? If so, do I have to wait for the Expansion pack to arrive?

The Core Set (whether you have 1st Edition or 2nd Edition) is only playable by 2 - 4 players. If you want to play with more people, you will need more cards.

The reason the box says "4 players" is because they don't really give you enough cards in the one box for more. The game plays just fine with 6 players, but you will need more cards, either through a second core set box or expansions.

I would suggest at least 3 cores purchased amount the 6 players. The more cores the better decks that each player can build. For expansion packs, each player really needs their own to make it work well.

If players in the group are willing to pick a faction (House) and stick with just that one then the cards will go much further, expansion packs could be split between 2-3 people but neutral cards will become the premium that you all fight over.

3 boxes for 4 players... So 6 boxes for 8 players... And 5 boxes for 6 players.

You just get enough money locations for 4 player in 3 boxes.

You can try with less, but the game will be much slover / and swingy if you don't get money to play your card. You Also need multible of some important blots and other neutral cards.
