Another Rebel Store Championship List- looking for input!

By rmb43, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hi all,

I have been working and reworking lists for my local Store Championship (still a month away :P). I want to fly a Rebel list that can be competitive, but doesn't necessarily have all the current favorites (TLTs, stressbot, etc). Here is what I came up with: I'd like to know which of the two lists you think would be better, and how they might stack up against the current popular lists. Basic premise of the list: I wanted to use A-wings because they are inexpensive autothruster carriers, and because they can carry two EPTs to make Juke even more effective.

List A:
Wes Janson w/ Predator, R2D2, and Engine Upgrade

Green Squadron Pilot w/ Refit, Title, Push the Limit, Juke, and Autothrusters

Green Squadron Pilot w/ Refit, Title, Push the Limit, Juke, and Autothrusters

Bandit Z-95

100 points

List B:

Wes Janson w/ Predator, R5-P9, Integrated Astromech

Green Squadron Pilot w/ Refit, Title, Push the Limit, Juke, and Autothrusters

Green Squadron Pilot w/ Refit, Title, Push the Limit, Juke, and Autothrusters

Prototype Pilot A-wing w/ Refit, Autothrusters

100 points

Janson's ability works well in tandem with Juke, as it removes focus tokens before the Green Squadrons attack with Juke. I like List A because it gives the X-wing the ability to reposition some, and can regenerate without having to use focus to do so. The downside is the Bandit, while a decent blocker, can be burned down easily by TLTs (and most anything else). List B adds a 3rd A-wing, which not only blocks better, but is much more survivable than the Z-95. The tradeoff is that Janson loses boost and his regen requires his focus token. Again, I'd really appreciate some feedback regarding the general competitiveness of this list against popular builds like TLT, control lists, Brobots, Palpmobiles, etc. Any input is very appreciated!

Engine isn't that essential on Wes, although it can be nice.

R5-P9 just isn't going to be useful. Wes is the enemy's first target, so he'll always spend his focus in combat.

So with those in mind, I would go with:

Wes: predator, R2-D2 & integrated astro = 36

2 greenies w/ chardaan, PTL, juke & autothrusters = 24 x 2

proto pilot w/ chardaan = 15

99

I agree that Wes is the main target and that R2D2 is a better choice. I would still like to have Autothrusters on that 3rd A-wing, though. TLTs are so prevalent in my area, they seem a must on low-health A-wings. What about swapping Predator for Lone Wolf? That would let me fit the Autothrusters in, and as the A-wings are typically flanking anyway, Janson might be able to use Lone Wolf often. Or I could just go with the classic Veteran Instincts so that Wes can remove tokens from aces before they can shoot....

There are two list types I am worried about with this list: stress dealers and anything with Moldy Crow....

Most twin lasers will be pointed at Wes first, so the proto will be ignored in the beginning. After that, he should be getting right into their faces, blocking moves, and so is unlikely to get hit by twin lasers that often...

He's also your expendable ship---if your opponent IS shooting at him first, he's only doing you a favour, letting your more powerful ships live longer...
