Limit on Troops/power tokens etc

By Terraneaux, in A Game of Thrones: The Board Game (1st Edition)

What happens when a player runs out of power tokens, or footmen, or whatever. Is there a 'cap' on these kind of things or is it pencil and paper time?

What you have is what you get. So once you're out, tough.

That's the beauty of GoT in my opinion.

It's nigh impossible to dominate Westeros all by yourself, due to the fact you haven't got enough troups. You must make deals with others.

And you have to accept that claiming territory (by dropping power tokens) with the fact this will leave you with a smaller maximum power pool for clashes etc.

It's all about balancing those restrictions. This is no riskesk army stockpiling game gui%C3%B1o.gif .

In this game, you are limited by the number of footmen, knights, boats and power tokens you start the game with (if i remember correctly, 8-10 footmen, 4 knights, 6 boats and 20 power tokens). So yes, you are limited.

If you lose them, use a replacement and ask Fantasy Flight and their amazing costumer support to send you by mail, free of charges, the replacements needed.

Yeah, it seemed to make sense in terms of gameplay but I was just checking to see if we were doing it right. The power tokens can especially bite you in the ass later if you've been laying them down willy-nilly.

The limit of the army and also the Supplies System is one of the best part of this Game. This limit also limits the "conteporary" fights that you can do with different Houses. The Power Tokens are also a victory condition (the Third) when there is a draw in the Castles and Supplies condition.
