What is the best Double Decimator list? Can't you just slap a 58 point Power RAC and naked Oicuun together and call it a day?

My friend has been running this list for the last month. It has taken me kinda by surprise, as I'm used to him running Imp aces and now have to chew through two Decis to win.

RAC w/Predator

Oicunn w/Mara Jade, Intimidation, Anti-Pursuit Lasers, and Dauntless

Oicunn is just a beast when he hits something/something hits him.

Mara looks good on first glimpse, and goes well with Oicunn. But the ships that would suffer from stress (like Fel) don't get one (most of the times they are already stressed due to ptl) and the other ships really don't care that much - you might be able to deny a couple of k-turns from a swarm, but you really shouldn't be that close to swarms to start with :-)

Intimidation is another card that looks great on Oicunn, but the Decimator is easy to outmaneuver, against good players you will get like one base contact during a game. I had great success with Expert Handling on Oicunn, especially when paired with Intel Agent. All the sudden you have quite a number of ships that bump you :-)

APL really is a nice card, but it should just deal the damage it rolls (ie critical). I ran double deci in a tournament and out of 7 APL attack rolls there was no hit! I had other games before were I scored an hit almost everytime a ship bumped into my Deci though. I've come to the conclusion that ion is better on Oicunn, because the chances for a point of damage are equal plus you deny k-turns and other fancy movement stuff and there's a 50% chance to deal another guaranteed damage the next turn (unless he can BR into freedom, but those could be countered by own BR)

He seems to be unnaturally lucky with APL, as it almost always triggers. I've ran into him quite a bit with an APL Bossk and while my Bossk did zero damage he did three. Annoying. I'd assume he would take an Ion Projector if he had the card, but I don't think he does.

How did that not melt to triple jumps? 12 damage from the torps then primaries to finish off the first one.

Great idea!

That solves the issue of mobility pretty easily.

However, my first thought is to swap upgrades around, making RAC bare ones and Oicunn the one with Predator + Engine + Gunner. It defeats the purpose of having 1 expensive Deci and one bare bones, but at some point, you'll want action economy and reliability in your attacks. RAC gets that naturally with TL + mini focus, so Oicunn really needs it. You also get to use his ability MORE when you have Engine Upgrade on Oicunn.

You might be able to get away with no Gunner though, and putting Darth Vader on one, and a 2 pt EPT on RAC, or a 2 pt crew.

Oicunn (with Daredevil) does not need EU! Use Daredevil to ram things! It is a maneuver so, unlike actions (such as barrel roll and boost) it is legal for a ship to bump another ship when attempting the 1 turn Daredevil maneuver. Sure, spending ANOTHER 4 points for EU will keep the negative aspects of Daredevil from happening, but WHO CARES!?!? The Decimator is a beast! You're trading 1 or 2 guaranteed hits for the possibility of two damage to yourself.

Pair this with Dauntless for dumb things. Ram into stuff, then trigger daredevil and ram into them again. Granted, you're then double stressed, but still.

Nope, they'll be eaten by JumpMasters and even dual Ghosts.

I like my Master and Apprentice list. Simple to play and terribly frustrating for your opponent.

Assuming you're going to keep this list, please change a Bombardier out for an Intelligence Agent. At the very least, it will help you know who to target lock so you can possibly actually fire those plasma torps. Also, I'd probably put anything else on Oicunn instead of Ruthlessness.

RAC and Kylo pilot looks like it could be a beast.

Pred/Captive/Engine on RAC< A Score To Settle, Palp, sensor cluster on Kylo.

Double Decis just have too many weaknesses for me. I've eaten them alive with aces on several occasions; they just don't have an answer to high-agi ships with autothrusters unless you put Vader/Gunner on one of them. Or bombs I guess but bombs are probably too pricey to be that answer.

Hmm... Looks interesting - PS10 Chiraneau is nice, and with Isard is tougher than he looks - but I keep thinking I'd feel much happier with Push The Limit for boost/evade/target lock - Chiraneau is your 'big stick' and you can't afford to have him miss.

I wholeheartedly accept that the Patrol Leader's primary weapon is essentially just targeting lasers for Darth Vader's ability.

It's usually best not to post in long dead topics. It's called necroing and it's generally thought of to be bad practice. Better to just post a new one.

I think it is better to follow a thread a few months ago than to start a new one and lose the previous infomarcion.
