If You Made a Grand Admiral Thrawn Crew...

7 Points, 2 crew slots

At the start of the activation phase, guess aloud one enemy ship's maneuvre and then reveal it. If you are correct that ship receives one stress token.

Gotta credit that to one of my local buddies, but the ability always felt so Thrawn-like to me I had to post it.

That's pretty brilliant. Not sure the ability is worth 7 points or 2 crew slots, though, since it'd be rather unreliable. But it definitely punishes your opponent for flying predictably, and is awesome for people who are great at deducing what their foe is doing.

It reveals an enemy ship's dial at any range at the start of the activation phase. That's an obscenely good ability on its own; the stress is a very strong bonus.

Intel agent reveals an enemy ships dial at the start of the ctivation phase for 1 point. The lack of a range restriction and potential for a stress doesn't make it worth 6 more points and an extra crew slot.

If you add an Intelligence Agent into the mix you won't be guessing either, taking out a ship's actions.

Like Raymus Antilles, so no, it's too much what we already have.

Crew: if your opponent has a custom paint job, or "art" on their ships, you may deal 2 face down damage cards in any round of play, then your opponent stabs you in the back like a Noghri. 3 points and a hospital visit.

Crew: You lose, but all the other players may not stop talking about how awesome you are until the next tournament.

Crew - 6 Points

Action: You may assign each friendly ship at range 1-2 a focus or evade token.

Then, assign a stress token to each ship that took a token.

That would be... broken? Like utterly?

Soontir is freed from PtL, just taking a focus action, receiving a focus and a evade. Let's give him Outmaneuver to make him superWedge.

Defenders, especially with EPTs such as Predator don't care all that much about stress, not with /x7.

Every Black Squadron now carries Juke.

Thrawn

At the start of the first round choose one enemy and one friendly ship.

The friendly ship activates immediately after the enemy ship regardless of Pilot Skill.

Crew

cost 4

before the opponent reveals his ships he has to tell you the names of each of them without revealing their cards. Then you may state the effects of as many as possible without reading cards. For every effect you state correctly the ship loses it's ability.

Or crew 3 points

When dice are rolled change all red dice results to hits and all green dice results to evades, you may spend a focus token to add one hit result to your roll.

Yeah, but you also have to think about at what PS the ship with Thrawn on it would be going. You wouldn't be able to use it if your ship was going after him and had a red move programmed, otherwise you could get flown off the board. And if you had a white programmed, you are only getting the token from Thrawn and a stress that isn't being cleared. And if you are willingly putting stress on yourself in a list-wide way, it makes stresshogs and tacticians even more dangerous to your list as it's easier for them to double/triple you up.

Maybe change it to be 'may take a focus or evade ACTION' and keep the stress part the same. And make it 'large ship only'. Means people can't double-up on tokens, and if they are already stressed they cannot use it. Basically I wanted to double the points for fleet officer and make it a bit more universal, but still with consequences. Plus you still have the range limit, do you always want an ace like Soontir that close to your Deci or Shuttle or (more rare) Imp firespray?

I really like the first one OP.

i made this one a bit ago.

Grand Admiral Thrawn and Captain Gilad Pellaeon belong in Star Wars Armada, but I'd like to see them in here too.

Ah,I had assumed Huge Only, like Tarkin.

Gotta throw it out there that I disagree with all proposals that involve increasing the pilot skill of friendlies. Thrawn isn't about superior reaction time, he's about superior planning, that's why I liked the "activate all friendlies at PS0"; it makes you be Thrawn. Or something to do with revealing maneuvers, that's like Thrawn sitting next to you, telling you what's about to happen.

Agreed about friendly pilot skills. Thrawn didn't make his allies better per se, he just figure dout how to counter his enemies. That's why I went with negating an opponent's pilot or crews ability for him. Basically he figured them out and figure dout how to counter them.

Gotta credit that to one of my local buddies, but the ability always felt so Thrawn-like to me I had to post it.

I really liked that!

I would take this over the Emperor.

Why choose? You could take one OGP with Thrawn, one OGP with the Emperor, a light Vader, and Wampa all in one list.

I would seperate Thrawn into two cards:

Thrawn's art gallery (huge ship only, 2 points):

If thrawn (crew) is also equipped on this ship, increase the pilot skill of the ship by 1.

Thrawn (huge ship only, 5 points):

When revealing your manoeuver, you may switch it to another manoeuver of the same speed.

This would really affect the meta of an epic build; the ability to, every time, put your Raider in response to where your opponent places his huge ship and change manoeuvers in order to squish more enemy ships.

Grand Admiral Thrawn

Huge Ship Only, Imperial Only

Before an enemy ship at range 3-5 reveals its dial, you may guess the selected maneuver of that ship. If you are correct, that ship receives 1 face up damage card. If you are incorrect, you receive one damage.

Cost: 4

I like this. But it meeds a range 1-2 limitation. Also super strong eith intel agent, or obvious green manuevers. Oh youre stressed? You are doing a 1 straight. Now i decide your dial. Muhahahahah.

Actually if they were doing a green maneuver while stressed and you guessed it you wouldn't get to decide their dial. They'd just take a second stress, then clear 1 of the two on their move. The problem would be if they picked a RED maneuver and you now give them as tress before performing it (can we say broken?)

derp, yeah i was mistaken on my example.

If You Made a Grand Admiral Thrawn Crew...

What would you have it do?

My tribute to the Admiral.

I'll post it here to get bids on the cost.

If we use this tomorrow what should we cost it at, and why??
