That has to be the worst title I've ever written.
Anyway, I've been running Edge at home with my wife and son, and my buddy joining us via Google Hangouts. The trouble is, if I load up Roll20 or any other tools, they don't seem to be available for him. Are all those little add-ons only available on a Windows PC? I can't load them up on Android phones or an iPad, but I figured his laptop (Macintosh) would be able to handle it.
*sigh* I think 2015 was the year I became old...
Roll20 + Hangouts + Mac. Problems?
As someone else who is new to roll20, I can only say I feel your pain. The learning curve was a bit high, but then I did jump in the deep end with API scripts and whatnot.
However, they do have tablet support to some extent, so I'm not sure that the program is the problem. From what I understand, its heavily reliant on using the proper web-browser (Firefox or Google Chrome), and less a matter of which OS you're running.
I know at least one of my guys plays on a mac laptop, and has had little or no problems with roll20. We jump directly into roll20 though, and skip the Google Hangouts.
Sounds like the problem might be something on the Google hangouts side of the house.
Are you a Roll20 supporter (or whatever title it is they use for paying members)? If you are, you can use the API scripts for the rolling mechanics. As for google hangouts, I've never used it other then on a PC. So I'm afraid I can't help much there.
Hm, I got the roll20 app to load in Hangouts on my Mac. I do pay for the premium subscription though, but it's my understanding that you don't need that to use the app. Is he using the official Hangouts client or a third party utility?
I'm using Chrome with the official Hangouts App.

Hm. It sounds like I just need to get hold of his computer and make sure it's set up properly.
This seemed easier in 8th grade, you know?
