PC looking for an online/forum game of EotE or F&D

By GreyMatter, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Confessions:

  • I have GM'd Star Wars games but have not played in them as a PC.
  • I have never played a remote/forum pen and paper game of any type.

I'd like to rectify this situation!

Qualifications:

  • Pretty decent role player
  • Better writer
  • Quick learner
  • I own all the FFG Star Wars books and have read them all

I have no idea what to expect in terms of frequency of posts/play, but I'm online a lot and am generally available (daily) for contributions of this type. I am also willing to go outside this site to join a game.

I think my preference is to start "fresh" with a new campaign but will also happily join an ongoing one.

Thanks, guys!

I'd also be interested in play a PC in a forum game. I could try my hand a GM a game if no one else volunteers.

I'll GM a F&D game, I got time and no one to play in my verse that I got. Who's interested?

Color me interested.

Also interested. Especially if it's a F&D game.

Color me interested.

That's one...

+1 for me

I only have EotE, so I'm not sure what differences there are between EotE and F&D, but I am interested if its doable

I would also be interested!

Awesome, glad to see there's interest! :D I'm in.

killakan, I'll let you take it from here.

Interested, I suppose.

I would also be interested in an online F&D game, if there's room.

Nota bene: I tend to find non-Force Sensitive characters more interesting to play in Star Wars, so if I'm playing in a F&D campaign, I may opt for something unconventional.

Morality is a big factor, but if you want to play a EotE Character I'm all for it, just use these rules for Morality

Emotional Strength/Weakness: This could be any Pair of diametric Emotions like Caution/Fear and Justice/Cruelty. Used to describe Personality.

Morality Value: How good or evil you are, described as a number between 0-100 with numbers lower than 50 being evil and those under 30 are Dark Siders and those above 70 being Light Side Paragons. Redemption from the Dark Side requires you to have a morality of above 70 to use the Light Side again.

Dark Side Benefits: Flip a light side Destiny Point to dark side, Morality <20 = Wound +1 Strain -1, Morality <10 = Wound +1 Strain -1, stacks with the previous bonus.

Light Side Paragon Benefits: Add a light side Destiny Point to the starting pool, Morality >80 = +1 Strain, Morality >90 = +1 Strain, stacks with the previous bonus.

Morality and Conflict: Conflict is gained throughout a session by doing questionable things and by using the Dark Side of the Force. At the end of a session, roll 1d10 and subtract the amount of conflict generated, this is how much your Morality changes by, then remove all conflict.

Morality Options: +10 XP or +2,500 Credits or +5 XP and +1000 Credits or + 21 to Starting Morality (50)

Did I get everything?

Go for it you're joining this guy. Also we are playing a Knight-Level game, which gives players +150 XP after character creation and +9000 Credits or a Lightsaber of your choosing with Unmodified Illum Crystal, any mods made do not require a check if they are bought at character creation, also the Marksman Barrel can be applied to Ranged Light weapons, however they are Impossible to conceal but do not add cumbersome to the pistol (Think of an Extended Barrel on those old revolvers, you ain't concealing that)

Any restrictions, like gear rarity? How do you prefer getting character data? What's the setting?

No disruptor weapons, use this site and link it back here, set just after New Hope.

What do you guys think of me as both a PC and the GM?

You're the GM! If you think you can PC impartially, go for it.

For the record, I will likely be playing a Gotal Sentinel-Shadow.

I think I'll go Zabrak Guardian/Warden. I might also pick up Soresu Defender with the extra 150 XP.

What do you guys think of me as both a PC and the GM?

I'm willing to give it a shot. We can always phase out the character if we run into problems.

I'm going to have to wait until I get home from work (shhhh) to check my book and decide what to play, but I'm happy to fill capability gaps.

Oh, I forgot to tell you that I only have the core books so please send me a copy of anything you want that isn't in the core books for examination please.

Do you have the printable specilization sheets that you can get on BeggingforXP? That has the Warden details if you need to cross-reference.

I have the same wishes! Looks like I'm late to the party, there are plenty of people. But, depending on the schedule, I'd be interested in finally playing. I could be happy playing anything, but since most of my player experience has been a rogue/mage/druid type, I wouldn't mind trying a more combat focussed character (starting as Enforcer would be my fave...)

I unfortunately don't, but a post of a scan would work.

Go for it dude, have some fun!!

I got my PC built, if you want to look over it.
