Plastic Model Glue, like the Revell stuff, isn't actually a 'glue', but a solvent - it works by melting the plastic. You then jam the two bits together, so when it dries it's essentially one bit. It should be as strong as the original connection. The downside is that it only works on specific types of plastic, and sadly clear plastic is what it often has issues with. Plastic model builders use all sorts of stuff, but strength usually isn't a major concern there.
What type of Glue to use to repair model
I'm reasonably sure that the pegs won't bond with poly cement. But I'll check when I get home.
Yup can confirm: poly cement doesn't bond with the base or peg plastic. Which isn't really surprising because IIRC it's polycarbonate which isn't even close to the same thing as the styrene the models are made of. And IME even that doesn't bond amazingly with poly cement; I've had to use superglue in a lot of cases.
