A full change to his abilities it seems. I think he's feat its better, although it isn't the 1-shot-kill action, it now grants the possibility to perform an free attack with the results you desire. The dreams of seeing all those high dice results in every die you roll, seems funny.

Mother of Kellos... that is one disturbingly powerful, walking, stomping, fuzzy tank of destruction!

Not as powerful as a Dwarf mind you, but still quite impressive... :D

I'm wondering if Karnon and Steelhorns are still going to be figures that occupy one space or will they be the first large base Heroes to exist. They are the biggest and bulkiest Heroes so far in any edition, at least, that I can remember.

Unlikely? sure, but they could go that route, and give them the same rules for movement as large monsters.

Still not available on Amazon. Us people that live in towns without game stores really get the crap end of this new Asmodee retailer agreement thing. Everything costs almost twice as much and now we can't even get it when it's released.

Thank you Asmodee! Loving the new shake down for money!

15% off at http://www.coolstuffinc.com/p/224661 (Looks like they lost their cheaper shipping option though. For me, this ships for $7 minimum)

At CoolStuffInc., these usually go for 25% off. I'm assuming this is a function of it being brand new. It's possible that Asmodee is prohibiting them from selling this product cheaper than that though. Time will tell.

I don't think that is a 'free' attack, he feat is used when you make an attack, so it still counts as an action. Its basically just a max-damage attack.

Oh, you are rigth, I read it wrong...I though it said "Use to perfrom an attack..." didn't see the " when you " hehehe

Just got this. Went to add it to my collection, and its not on the app yet! Disgrace!

I joke, its fine, its a cool set and I look forward to painting it and playing soon :)

I've actually never played as Karnon before. Sadly, I don't think I'd ever play the revised version either.

I was really hoping they would change his attribute distribution. 6 Might is novel, sure, but there is a reason the vast majority of heroes don't have '6' in an attribute. For one, the odds of succeeding at a test do not increase much going from '5' to '6'. The increased odds going from '2' to '3' is massive though!

Furthermore, he pays for this in his other stats, which are awful! He is going to fail every test under the sun. To make things worse, Overlord will be very inclined to pick Basic II vs. a Karnon. Those Blinding Speeds are going to be amazing with him in play! That low Willpower means he will be charmed and tired out all day too.

I would have changed his might to '5' and his awareness to '3' personally.

As for his ability and feat, I'm fairly neutral on them.

I wish the ability read "Recover 1 stamina OR 1 heart". My beef with super high health heroes is that recovering all that health is a pain without a health potion or similar effect. Something to assist with recovery of health would have been nice.

I like that the feat can be elected to be used after dice are rolled, as it allows a miss to be turned into a big hit. You can even check on the defense roll first before electing to use it.

I think he will make a good Champion or Berserker in an RtL/Co-op game, but a player Overlord will punish him too hard with attribute tests. Raythen as an escort to save his Awareness might help a little.

I personally wish they had chosen to release a Mage hero with this pack, like Mad Carthos or Landrec the Wise.. oh well!

Is this normal? The only time I've ever had to assemble any miniature was when I bought the Valyndra Lieutenant Pack (I had to stick the wings in... and let me tell you, the right when did NOT want to go in...)

Exactly. All that they have done is make it harder for people to buy their stuff which is the opposite of what a consumer facing business should want to do. They are just going to end up shooting themselves in the foot as their profits decline due to the lack of availability of their products.

MM and CSI are both selling it for the same price. Another example of the enforced price fixing for online sales (which may also extend to physical retailers...I don't know as I don't have any near me to compare). When you add in the shipping, it just makes it more expensive than MSRP, unless you can wait to place a $100 order. Maybe this will motivate CSI and MM to get competitive on their shipping. That was Amazon's edge, and now even that has been taken away from us. ANA/FFG have really screwed over their fan base with this new sales scheme...

I like this Karnon. He has great strengths, but severe weaknesses too. That is, he isn't well rounded, and I think that's part of his character. Even though 6 isn't much better than 5 in terms of pass chance, remember that it protects him well against effects like Befuddle, or the master changelings Hideous Laughter. He's so strong that even when he's feeling weak, he's still strong- that is, reliably mighty.

His low (fine for a warrior) stamina is buffed by his hero ability, and in a way, his speed is, too. Fatigue over, attack to recover. Fatigue over, attack, recover. He's a beast- just a little less fond of reading.

I think they did this because otherwise it would have never fit into the standard H&M box. Everything assembled pretty easily, just where the legs go into the base was a bit annoying

Those are very good points, and I'd also point out that even when Karnon does miss and gets the dreaded busted turn the rest of the Heroes can help him regain his stamina.

The trigger is adjacency to a monster that's been defeated after all. Karnon can get back stamina even if he's not the one doing the clubbing! He could potentialy go turns without being fatigued out, which is balanced out by his low starting pool.

Can Karnon use his heroic feat while using Carve A Path? And will his feat affect enemies he pass through?

(He moves up to his speed "passing through enemies" and perform an attack to a minion monster. Since he's attacking a minion monster with a Melee weapon, he can use his heroic feat.)

Otherwise get a Dawnblade. :P

Unfortunately, no. The feat requires you to target a minion monster. Carve a Path does not target the monsters that are moved through. It "affects" them. Ditto for skills like Fire Breath and creatures adjacent to a monster hit by a Blast.

Charmy has it, though I think I'd alter his response slightly to "fortunately."

just receive my pack and one thing is surprising me

all miniature are huge !

Even Arvel is almost taller than Nanok ! and not to mention Steelhorns and Karnon who barely fit on the little base ...

Shades are twice tall as a standard hero, dark minotaurs don't fit on base ...

Only ice wyrms looks like a bit to thin to me (and strangely, they are in part and need to be mounted, they are 6 parts if I remember well)

maybe the miniature scale has changed ?

Can you post some pictures on that minis:) ?

There is a pic of the Ice Wyrms on the previous page! :D

But it's a pic of the Ice Wyrm after Karnon has used his feat on it!!
