News page for Shards of Everdark has appeared! I'm now confident that "Stewards of the Secret" does not contain Arvel, because the hero on the far right is almost certainly her. I'm excited!

" Bring Arvel Worldwalker, One Fist, Karnon, or Steelhorns into your team to embark on new adventures."
You are quite right, that is Arvel

Yes, I think so. I don't remember that news release explicitly labeling the heroes, though.
That heroic feat of One Fist looks pretty cool. Can it be combined with a Knight's 'Advance'?
And how about 'Stalwart', can both be triggered?

I can imagine Bol' Goreth like...with those minotaurs

I believe with the shades and ice wyrms announced, all of the first edition + 1E expansion monsters are now covered by the Hero and Monster packs, correct?
Yep, and 12 heroes left. (Brother Glyr, Landrec the Wise, Mad Carthos, Kirga, Red Scorpion, Bogran the Shadow, Tobin Farslayer, Eliam, Hugo the Glorious, Laughin Buldar, Varikas the Dead, Aurim)
Edited by Atom4geVampireCan anyone tell what size the ice wyrms are? The original one ws 2x3 but looking at the picture it appears to me that it might be 2x2, I really hope it says 2x3 as we only have two other groups of that size. Opinions?
Unless they change the format or just never add those heroes, that means three more Hero and Monster collections would be needed to finish up the heroes, which would also mean 9 new monsters. What kind of monsters would everyone want?

Awhile ago, I asked about the combination of "Advance" and "Stalwart," and the response I got was this:

That ice chunk looks oblong to me (look by the dragon's tail.) I'd vote 2x3 (especially given their CK size) but I could be wrong.
Or perhaps they could add them to the expansion boxes, remember HoB didn't have heroes and was focused in the OL, probably, the Chain that Rust (its sister expansion) would have these heroes with the classes that are left in order to balance out HoB. That's what I think.
Aw, still no Varikas.
I love the monster groups, though. Shades have always been a favorite of mine, and the new minotaurs are great.

Agreed- the Dark Minotaurs are an interesting fresh monster group. I like that they commit to disease as a condition (some 'condition' based monsters are only minimally so.)
Bull Rush is absolutely insane. Imagine the Dark Minotaur being hit with Dash, and then moving four from a "Move" action.......8 additional red power dice potential? Am I reading that wrong?

I think so from my reading (but I'm not english native) if you attack an hero who was not adjacent to you at the beginning of your activation you have only 1 additional red no matter the distance you will cover to attack the hero..
This is act II card so with the red he has the same dices as big monsters (like dragons, golems, etc ..) I'm curious how is the act I card... only one blue by default ?
Edited by FelinOkay, that makes more sense. Thanks Felin.
Wow.... just wow!
I can imagine now One Fist with the Trident on Act I. BRY S:+2 and Reach. If he is defeated, he can start a chain of defeated monsters at 2 spaces from him. Well, OL should take care of this never happening, but now this hero will likely rush into the monsters formations WILLING to be defeated to masacrate those foes.
That is a nice combo.
I feel that one fist would put nanok to shame on the offense category. Only using a one hander is not that bad of a draw back if you get a bonus die. Give him iron claws in act2 and he would dominate. BYYYG!!! Dragon tooth hammer would also be nice.
mace of kellos? recover 1 heart on surge, one fist dont die then???

I don't think it works like that. Just like the Knight's "Stalwart," the ability doesn't say, "after the attack resolves, if you haven't recovered health you're KO" it says "after the attack resolves, you're KO." Remember, the attack began with you being defeated. Regardless of what you recover while performing it, at the conclusion of the ability (as stated) you'll be defeated, and therefore suffer fatigue up to your stamina and damage up to your health.
First off, these models look AWESOME.
One Fist's ability is ridiculously powerful. One additional Yellow dice, seriously? So one hero starts the game with BRY attacks and that hero has 4 fatigue to spend and 4 move? That looks overpowered to me. Oh and he has 2-digits life total, good stats (and 2 in knowledge? why couldn't it be 1 if the rest is at 3?), and should the Overlord manage to take him down he could execute an insane feat? I´m waiting for the community to prove me how this is not overpowered. Some existing heroes look on the edge of OP but this one takes the cake by a huge shot.
About the Dark Minotaurs, do you think they can be 2x2 models? Because they have the standard resilience of large monsters, and I don't know, the mini looks quite big on the picture. Anyway, nice war machine they are. The question is if the Act I version still grants a Red dice or can be a Yellow dice instead. I particularly like the unconditional Diseased condition @3 spaces, that's nice. The question is what other monster type these two compete with. I was thinking Volucrix Reavers first, but the Minotaur's toughness seem to indicate they belong to the Trolls/Giant/Ettin category, except they cannot sweep or throw, assuming there large monsters.
Edit: Note the Minotaurs have no bonus on damage, that's interesting.
Edit 2: These minotaurs actually only have 2 dices during Act II so they´re not that powerful. It's a conditional RRB attack if they´re not adjacent. Pierce is nice, but no damage bonus on surge, come on. Ynfernael Hulks seem way better than these, a +3 damage on surge is way better than a 1-3 damage extra dice. Hulks roll BRY base as well.
Edited by IndalecioI'm so happy with this expansion pack, but my wallet is crying.
It's good to see that they are still supporting Descent 2E

They are still selling Descent 2Ed products. Which is fine and all.
However supporting Descent, while technically true (FFG can always be inquired for rules question) is a different beast, and a controversial topic currently in this community.
