Attanni Mindlink

Wouldn't 'stress' token really screw this up?

If your lower PS pilot K-turns, and you hand a stress token to your ace. Now he reveals his red maneuver and your opponent is selecting your dial? Point is -- you'd probably see a few more of these 'whoops' moments.

Play better?

I mean yep, obviously. That'd just be a somewhat new mechanic to the game right? Normally can check your pilot stress while planning, and not have to worry about it changing during reveal right?

It's not a common occurrence but this can already happen with bombs and crits.

Unlike the situation with bombs, you know if you are going to set a red maneuver on one of your other ships (or use a stress inducing ability). That should not come as a surprise. Debris are the thing that could really screw you up though.

Sharing stress would make the Stresshog and TLT/Tactician combo insanely powerful.

It don't think it would be too bad. It will only spread a single stress token and only to ships that aren't already stressed. Don't get me wrong, it's definitely powerful but no more powerful than anything else that causes stress.

I'd imagine that Rebel Captive usage will increase it that's the way that Attani Mindlink ends up being worded and ends up being in a lot of lists.

This would probably make a decent upgrade to include in Scum Aces assuming it has the Scyk in it.

Heh I like that. If it becomes a huge include in the meta sort of thing, start packing debris in your setup and hope for some botched maneuvers.

And...now you know why there's no previews.... Everything is halted until this card gets corrected or removed.

That seems like a reasonable conclusion to reach, especially based on a wild and totally unverifiable guess at the card's actual text.

I think I prefer the focus or evade idea better than having a cheaper cost which shares stress and focus.

But the 2nd makes much more sense thematically though, which makes me believe that is where we are going... You can't mindlink an evade, ya know? But stress and focus... Which makes me think...

It's 0 points. Which, with how heavy the stress meta is, sounds about right.

It's especially reasonable to conclude that this would probably require FFG to ship every copy of Punishing One back to the factory to have the new cards inserted into the package and then shrink-wrapped again.

The Mist Hunter article did make mention of the need for 0 point EPTs. The Evade and Focus version seems like it would have to cost 3 points or so which seems pricey enough that you've just smack Predator or PTL on those ships instead.

No, each card will be painstakingly re-inked by hand. And the only guy they trust for work that delicate is Joe and he ain't the fastest anymore, what with the bad eyes and the skunk bite and all. And anywho, Joe's out till next Friday anyway... How does middle of 2017 sound?

If it ends up being focus and evade I suspect we will be seeing alot of lists run a single Green Squadron Awing with test pilot, PTl and Mindlink to give both types of tokens out to all of his ace buddies.

Indeed, this came to mind with me as well. There are fewer rebel interactions but some could be just as strong. Red Ace also comes to mind with his free evade upon taking shield damage once per turn.

Red Ace doesn't care what Attani Mindlink does because he won't be able to equip it.

Forgot about that. He could equip the astro-mech if he really wanted to make it work. Plenty of competition for that slot though.

Kind of hard not to take one of the regen droids on Red Ace though.

Swarm.

Its an action-economy multiplier in the guessed reading.

Basically, Attani Mindlink adds +X actions to your fleet, where X is 2(Number of ships with Attani Mindlink)-2.

If the guessed card is correct, the real magic happens on the third and later ship with Mindlink. That's when the opportunity to stack tokens or take an action other than Focus or Evade starts to present itself. I wonder if this will make

Youngster and some of the Astromechs that cost an action to use more desirable than they've been in the past.

If it costs 2, Expose Youngster + 5x Blacks is a whole lot of fun.

If it costs 1, Howlrunner is in there as well!

Also, Howlrunner now gets +Focus +Evade +Barrel-Roll, without stressing.

Of course, the REAL winners here are the A-Wings.
Why? They get it in the same list as Jan Ors Crew (and have Target Lock, Boost, and a spare Elite Talent slot to boot)!
Suddenly, 1 action = 2 tokens per ship. And Juke.

Except that it's probably stress and not evade.

Focused and Stressed are both more-or-less mental states. Makes much more sense for both the name of the card and the balance of the ability.

Its also a balancer.

It still might be cool for Juke A-Wings, too.

The safest ship focuses, all his linked buddies get a free focus, then they all evade to benefit from Juke. If mindlink is 1 point you could fit five of the buggers in a list

My issue is that it makes no sense for it to be an EPT. It is a piece of tech not some natural skill so it should be illicit.

I definitely see the Card on a A-wing, paired with a B-wing;

this way you can use the B-wing action to barrel roll if needed, and still get that offensive focus after a smart repositionning.
