I am wanting to get my first imperial large ship. Which one should I get?
First Large Ship
Assuming that means you don't have a Raider for the Emperor? I'd get the Decimator. It's the most self sufficient of the 3.
My signature has all my ships.
Personally, I don't fly my Imperial large ships a ton, but I'd also lean towards the Decimator. The Firespray pilots are a little better for Scum than Imperial, and the shuttle is...well it's a shuttle, it's useful (especially as an Emperor transport) but not that interesting to me. Now if you're thinking about buying into Scum soon, the Firespray might be a better choice.
I agree, the Decimator is a competent warship with good all-round firepower. It's lack of agility can be a handicap but it can be worked around (Kenkirk with Ysanne Isard is a defensive build).
The Shuttle is more of a support vehicle which is dedicated to boosting your other ships. Not bad if that is what you want but it requires some synergy to work well.
The Firespray is nice enough but seems a little lacking compared to more recently released ships.
P.S. I am assuming you just mean large ships and not huge ships like the Raider or Gozanti.

Yeah.
I was thinking about the shuttle mostly for Vader and Anti-Pursuit Lasers. Then getting the Decimator because it's awesome. But the Slave I has VI and stealth device.
Just FYI, VI promo is in the spring tournament pack.
the shuttle is far more self sufficient than the deci
it comes out the box with Omnicron + Vader, a very potent and cheap combo that can be fit into almost every squad (even a tie swarm; just replace two academies!)

Haha. Just fair warning, fickle has an intense hatred toward anything with a primary weapon turret (like the Decimator). Not saying he's wrong about everything, but if it has to do with a PWT, take it with a grain of salt.
That said, the shuttle can be self sufficient, but Omi+Vader is not very good against Rebel ships, or anything with any serious amount of health. If you play casual, you're probably playing against Rebels, so it's not great. If you play tournament, the meta right now is heavy Rebel regen and/or Y-wing, so not so great. But that's just my 2 cents.
They are 2 very different ships:
Want more attack power? take the decimator
Want more of a support role? take the Shuttle
If you havent got (or intend to get) Scum & Villany, i'd skip the Slave1. I know it's an inconic ship, which looks beautiful. But the Decimator and Shuttle are far more interesting to fly in an Imperial list.
The Lambda is much more fun to play than the Decimator. Perfectly viable with either Vader or FCS/AS/EB and EU.
My signature has all my ships.
Just a friendly heads up. Some people change their settings to hide signatures. It cleans things up and makes the forum easier to read. Then when some people become regularly obnoxious you can hide their posts altogether which makes the forum even better yet.
All that being said, I have no clue what ships you have so I would also recommend the Decimator. It's the best attacking large ship Imperials have. However there are multiple things coming out that will make both the Firespray and Lambda better. Guidance Chips on Krassis will make him a lot more fun. I also think the Electronic Baffle is going to be great on the shuttle.
Alternative suggestion. Get Imperial Aces instead

well, it's true
I'm not up there claiming the PWT is a sh*tty, lazy mechanic (although it is), just that the Deci expac is not self-sufficient
it only really gets going with Predator and EU, neither of which the OP has. Ofc, he's always open to proxy
for someone just beginning to open up their imperial collection, though, I'd recommend shuttle expac every time. It's a very solid (if difficult to get used to) ship with some very solid upgrades. Plus it's low point cost lets you build far more lists with it included as opposed to the deci, which is 40 points minimum
Edited by ficklegreendiceSecond vote for Imperial Aces.
Otherwise, Decimator.
Shuttle is good, but wants more variety in lists than I believe your collection will offer it at this time.
I would lean towards the Shuttle before the others, but any are decent options.

Old/New Core Set, X-Wing, Y-Wing, E-Wing, Z95 Headhunter, TIE Fighter, TIE Advanced, TIE Bomber
Shuttle.
It's basically the Imperial Army Knife. Need a cheap attack ship? 3 Red Dice with more survivability than an X-Wing- at the same base price. Running into a lot of ATC or Omega Leader? Captain Kagi has you covered.
Plus Doom Shuttles.
Plus you get a fair few great cards. For instance: Advanced Sensors, Heavy Laser Cannon. Also: sensor jammer.
I mean: yes! The Firespray is good. But the Lambda is great.
But after that I recommend getting a Wuint blister and Imperial Aces.
How I would describe the big imps in one word;
Decimator; boring
Firespray; Awesome!
Shuttle; lolwutidonteven?
Casual play or competitive?
I fly casual so I got Boba Fett, because he's Boba Fett. He's not as strong as Han, but that can be counter-balanced by beefing up the imperial small ships. But that's just casual. Considering the highly addictive nature of this game I'm sure I'll get the shuttle and Decimator soon. My next purchase is either Imperial Aces or the Ghost (depending on availability), then the Decimator.
I don't play Empire and I don't have any large ships. But I like Lambda Shuttle!
For what you got, go Slave 1 or Lambda Shuttle, in fact more I think of it - space cow!
Start with the classics and build up - no need to go straight to the PWTs. (Primary Weapon Turret).
Edited by DariusAPBLarge ships too often require upgrades from other expansions, so decimator who wants engine from falcon\YV predator from defender\ kihraxz and slave that also want the engine
go for lambda, it's simple, comes with neat cards and will be with you to the end (palpmobile)
What are the best decimator builds?
Shuttle first. Utility in a bunch of lists, heaps of useful upgrades.
Firespray second. Multi factionable, good selection of upgrades, tough and fun to fly.
Decimator last. Costly, and packed upgrades aren't as essential.
But get all of them eventually.
