Coins Really?

So when world currency collapses will we be able to trade with FFG coins?

If that's the case I'll take his coins XD

Coins...I must increase my challenge coin collection.

They could have made them a store championship tradition and continued to hand out the medals for seasonal kits. IMHO this would have been better. It also would have separated the two.

I would be happy with that

The history of challenge coins and how they were used and the games played with them always made me see these as tools of distraction to keep people happy then as a reward of some kind. The challenge/games seem like childish games kids play.

but its OK I've now I found a solution in the way of a cordless drill and some ribbon.

I'll gladly trade the Firespray medal I won this past weekend for a challenge coin. Anyone? Please?

When the currency does collapses I hope FFG will sell me ship for these coins ;)

My general feelings has been the prize kits and material offered in them keeps kinda slowly going down. I miss my stills Alt-Art cards (for both participation and winning) and now they are removing the medals as well.

Nah, Bottle Caps.

Can I have... Both?

I wish the coins could be traded in for ships or swag. I might see if my community would want to find a use for them. I have one and would definitely be fine with using them challenge others and the winner keeps both coins.

I'm also a bit bummed out by the change from medals to coins.

I have an outfit on which I have my medals (only one from X-Wing, but 5 from Armada) as well as Imperial-themed patches. I was hoping to get more medals than an Italian generalissimo.

I have a bunch of coins from Privateer Press events... and some old old medals from them as well. The medals are more valuable to me since there were far fewer of those.

The coins are kinda cool, but I personally think I prefer the medals.

I'd much rather the coin than a medal. Who would actually genuine wear an X-Wing medal?

"What you do to get that?"

"Pushed toy spaceships around a mat?"

"And you wear it in public?"

At least a coin you can use for flipping for initiative, or just looks more in place as a desk ornament....

I look forward to winning a coin, then when I fall in to a deep depression - smoking 30 deathsticks a day and drinking heavily to forget about the 'old war' I'll be able to pass it off as a coming in a vending machine...

Me.

Walking into your FLGS to play a tournament with 15 of them pined to your jacket making a jingle jingle sound as you do. talk about Intimidation

If they are heavy enough to properly "oddjobb" a WAAC-player when encountered during a tournament, I don't mind having one at hand...!

^_^

For the record challenge coins are a military tradition. It is normally give to special units.

The challenge coin is a tradition that is steeped in pride. Owning a challenge coin from a high rank is an honor and as such, winning such coins deserve the same kind of respect

Really though doing that isn't intimidation...just kinda a **** move.

I will trade medals for coins :P

Is there a differences? :P

and why is displaying your medals a **** move anyway?

I see it a wearing them with pride. :D

I'd way rather have challenge coins than medals.

I always assumed the coins were for deciding initiative. But now I know they're some weird American military thing for trying to get out paying for drinks I'm all for it.

I do wish there was more than one Coins Really in the TIE/fo blister.

I think medals are kinda stupid myself.. a waste of metal and cloth.. at least coins are in a military tradition, yes I know medals are as well, but challenge coins are far more useful, try flipping a medal for initiative and see the look your opponent gives you.. and I'm ex military as well. Coins over medal any day.. I have enough medals from my time in service.. I could use a cool coin..
