What are people using as carrying cases for Armada?

By exinfris, in Star Wars: Armada

My current fleet has outgrown my carry case for Armada. Just wondering what others are using?

Currently I have 2 ISD's, 3 VSD's, 2 GSD's, and 6 Raiders.

I use a Plano tackle box that I got back when I played Mechwarrior Clix. It has 3 drawers, so I put ships in the top section, Imperial squadrons and cards in one tray, Rebel squadrons and cards in another tray, and generic items like damage cards in the third tray. In the lid section, I put dice and command tokens.

This is a similar model:

I recommend going to a local sporting goods store and seeing what tackle boxes they have.

Feldherr?

I put the majority of the ships + cards + rulebooks in the Armada box.

The squadrons and tokens are all in a £2.99 'sorting' storage tray thing I bought from Lidl.

And the ISD and Home One are on a shelf because they are too big for the box XD

My storage needs some work!

I use this, one for Imperial and one for Rebel forces. I can safely store (and have more room):

2 ISDs & MC80s, 3 of everything else, 2 of every fighter expansion.

You can even add felt and it keeps the flimsy ships safe. I was interested in buying Feldherr's solution, but it seems a tad expensive when what I have already works.

SirWillibald's sweet sweet hangars and gear boxes. Those then fit nicely into a pair of the 9 liter Really Useful Boxes (1 Rebel, 1 Imperial).

Shoeboxes, 5 of them...Yeah I'm cheap. Someday I'll look into a better solution, but right now I need to save for more ships!

I'm cheap, Not that cheap... I use a tackle box I got from white elephant for 30$

Stanley Click and Connect (STST 19900). Not too pricey and it's expandable. Vic antenna might break, but mine already had anyway.

Feldherr for me.

On the plus side the foam fits GW cases which is fantastic

Feldherr - though I've only got the Wave 1 bag, so I still need to cart around an Armada box for the misc stuff. Probably will get the Wave 2 box (since I already have the bag)

I've used The Stanley SortMaster, the Stanley FatMax organizers, and the DeWalt TSTAK system. I know several people who use the Click and Connect system and it seems to work well for them.

I started with the SortMaster, but had difficulty getting the AFmk2 and the VSD to fit nicely.

I found the FatMax organizers and they worked well with a mix of deep and shallow cases; again the larger ships started to pose difficulty, but they did fit.

Over the holidays, I got the TSTAK system and have moved my entire Armada collection into it. So far it is working well, but I haven't had as much time with it as the earlier two.

If I get some time this weekend I'll post some pictures and give a comparison of those three systems.

I love my Battlefoam 1520 XL. Tons of room, and it wheels like a suitcase. Pricey, but considering the amount I have spent and will spend on my fleets? Might as well cruise them around in style.

The Armada pre-designed foam trays are pretty cool, but designing your own custom ones is fun, too.

Problem with pre-cut foam: i have an OCD urge to purchase ships I don't like/want/need and stick them into the empty cavities.

1st world problems.
