So I'm new to the forums and I'm not sure where to put this but some friends and I were discussing the option to have Han pilot the lambda, Chewie, Leia, and Luke crew cards and the title of shuttle tiderian. It seems since they piloted it in RTOJ it would be cool to see the option to have the Rebs pilot it in a game. Has this been suggested before? Any thoughts on our idea?
Lambda shuttle for rebels???
It's been suggested before more times than I'd care to count. With the minor variation that Chewie was flying the Lambda.
Generally the suggestion is met fairly poorly. Myself, Id like to see a rebel acquired shuttle as well... I played the x-wing series of games. They were pretty common.
The typical argument against having the pristine stellar humpback as a rebel ship is that cross faction = bad, and there is enough of that with scum.
Of course, in a narrative setting - do what you want, maybe use lambda stats / chewie ability / rebel crew.
Oh, hey welcome to the forums!

Generally speaking, I don't want any more multifaction ships. Even when it makes sense, I feel like it tends to melt faction identity and reduce game flavor.
Having said that: I understand that one of the Gozanti missions has the Rebels stealing and then using a Gozanti cruiser. That's _amazing_, and for cinematic play I'm totally in favor of it. If FFG came out with a cardboard-only campaign pack that had cards only usable in casual play, I'd be 100% ok with a Rebel Lambda flown by our heroes.
I fully support FFG making that happen FYI. Just felt like that needs saying.
Yep as Darius says its come up a lot of times but no one minds revisiting these topics with new players so ask away.
Personally id say just do it for games with mates.
In the films we see it used once in an exceptional scenario and it doesnt really fight so you can understand why some people are 'no thanks'
But... in the old expanded universe 'lore' the rebels had fleets of them
So while i would nothold your breath waiting for a rebel marked lambda to comeout i would not rule out FFG maybe doing a 'return of the jedi' campaign pack with a scenario allowing you to use one in it.
As said before that precedent has already been set
edit: double post

I wrote a scenario for that... it's on mission control. They did this in the x-wing games too.
Rebels have a ton of cards that would have adverse effects on a shuttle. A Nieb Nub and Hera shuttle would suddenly open up its dial tremendously for two points andR2-D2 and C-3P0 would make it much tougher. It'd be an odd duck.
I think thats why it would work best in a scenario context
I'm Glad the Gozanti gave it official precedent...

Given the dial, Nien doesn't help as much as you'd think. But Crew!Hera lets you stand still all freaking day!
Hera, engine upgrade and expert handling.

That troop B-wing from episode 7 should fill the role.

Yeah, I think the Resistance Transport is a shoe-in for Wave 9. There aren't exactly many other options for new Resistance ships.

You may not be declared the target of attack. You may not perform actions.
If you perform an attack or are touching an enemy ship at the end of the activation phase, discard this card.

Too bad that in a galaxy where starfighters have been blowing each other up for thousands of years there don't seem to be any dedicated rescue vessels, just converted shuttles. Shouldn't there be, I dunno, a tug-like vehicle with manipulator arms and large airlock for such operations?
Just a thought. I guess it looked cooler to have shuttles doing all the work.

I was thinking "imperial command codes" being literally a rebel version of rebel captive.
First to target gets a stress.

To be honest... I don't know why there wouldn't be a few *All Faction* ships. Utility ships were utility ships. Freighters were freighters. Many were converted for special use, but were used by everyone!
And OMG Please don't make the Resistance Transport... we don't need a space weinermobile with a side hatch!
Fun mechanic, regardless of whether it goes on that title or not.Shuttle Tyderian

Put it on Omega Leader to ensure he's the last ship on the board.

Life is cheap, yo.
I don't think its a viable option for official tournament play. But in casual play, go for it.

I was going for something to be used in a mission setting, say take a shuttle and get it past a bunch of enemy ships unnoticed.
Thanks for all the replies. I was sure I'm not the first to have that conversation. We will figure out some way to incorporate it in our next game.
