Lambda shuttle for rebels???

By SnowFitter636, in X-Wing

Thanks for all the replies. I was sure I'm not the first to have that conversation. We will figure out some way to incorporate it in our next game.

You're welcome.

I'm no mathwinger (forum term for people who can understand the maths behind well, all teh x-wings) but if you are still playing a point based game with the shuttle, i'd inquire to exactly how many points it'd cost for the shuttle to have Han/Chewie's abilities...

Rough estimate is subtract Han's or Chewie's cost from ORS, then subtract another 12-15 points for the +1 att and extra hull/shields. Lemme see...

Hmmm. Around 4-7 points for Han, 0-3 for Chewie. Ok bad estimates then.

Yeah, the difference in stats from the base model makes it much harder eh?

I'll have to look a some of these option! - my wife really wants to run the lambda shuttle as part of a rebel squad.

The new U-wing looks like it will fill the role of a shuttle for the rebels. 2 crew and system slot, large base but dial unknown at present. 8 health is a bit lower than the Lambda's but Agility 2 when the wings are deployed mean it should have a similar level of durability. The only pilot we have seen so far is Cassian Andor who has the ability to remove stress from nearby friendlies. Definitely the sort of ability one would associate with a "support" ship.

These boards haven't gotten over a rebel tie fighter, I think a rebel lambda would be cool but there would be a lot of people complaining about it. Now they would just be complaining about something else if there was no rebel lambda though.

We're getting a rebel lambda

It is just called the Uwing instead :P

Yeah, and for those who think that a Lambda would be too good because of Hera (crew), think again :) The U-wing can not only stay in the same spot forever, it can also spin round like a maniac thanks to the title :D

FFG wont...hopefully make every ship available because some dudes and dudettes hoped in it once....If you want one for rebels... make a scenario and include it.

Shuttle Tyderian

Title, Lambda shuttle only

You may not be declared the target of attack. You may not perform actions.

If you perform an attack or are touching an enemy ship at the end of the activation phase, discard this card.

Fly casual.

My idea was the same with a different execution:

Title: Shuttle Tyderium: When deploying this ship, deploy the "Fly Casual" Condition Card.

Condition: Fly Casual. What you said.

Just use the Lambda model for the U Wing when it comes out :P

I can see it happening as it would be an easy one for FFG to do. Particularly when they need an idea for something and all the new movie stuff has been exhausted.

Dear rebels,

I know your ships suck but stop trying to steal ours, no one likes greedy people.

Yours the empire.

First the Sabine TIE, now the Lambda?

You ruffians..

If people are coming up with title cards for the Shuttle Tydirium, I should point out that my podcast (The Shuttle Tydirium) is having a contest about coming up with title card and pilot cards for the crew of our podcast. The prize is one of those Broken Token upgrade card boxes. It's a box that holds either 400 sleeved or 700 un-sleeved upgrade cards. I personally bought one and love it.

If anyone is interested, follow the link in my signature (or google shuttle tydirium podcast). It's episode 20 and contest details are at the end of the episode.

I have always loved the ship and would love to see an official Rebel title and pilots for it. With some of the crew that Rebels have access to (Hera, Nien Nunb, "Chopper," and others) that help overcome the limitations of a bad dial, and no Palpatine card taking up slots, it could be flown in a completely different fashion than how most Imperials fly them. A Lambda with options available to assist and support your other ships, that could actually be maneuverable and keep up with your other ships? Sounds fantastic to me, and I barely even play rebels (I built a list recently and had fun flying it, and will fly the U-Wing when it releases, but I am an Empire man at heart; rebel Lambda would get me to switch more often though).

A Rebel Lambda is on my most-wanted list, alongside the Gun Boat.

So I'm new to the forums and I'm not sure where to put this but some friends and I were discussing the option to have Han pilot the lambda, Chewie, Leia, and Luke crew cards and the title of shuttle tiderian.

Lambda Shuttles don't have 3 crew slots...

To be honest... I don't know why there wouldn't be a few *All Faction* ships. Utility ships were utility ships. Freighters were freighters. Many were converted for special use, but were used by everyone!

Indeed. We need our Utility Tugs and Bulk Freighters .

I'd love to see the Utility Tug as a supercheap ship that comes with a Tractor Beam and no other weaponry.

That's what I'd hoped the QuadJumper would be...super agile but slow, and with Pilot skills that allowed more flexibility with how you could throw things around with the tractor beam

Fortunately that seems likely to me to be pretty much exactly what the QD is so...

I don't know...six speed 1 moves - I was hoping for forward/reverse of everything, including sloops & t-rolls! ;)

(+ boost & barrel rolls, of course  )

...but, if it's a symmetrical dial, why an even number of moves, unless there's no straight ???

(EDIT: My one, faint, hope is that the 'Reverse' instructions card basically lets you do just the above, ie dial in one of six speed 1 moves, but execute them in reverse when you reveal your dial  )

This should happen for no other reason than the shuttle has such a bad paint job on it. I don't have any desire to repaint any of the x-wing models save for the lambda since the manufacture did such a poor job of it. Considering some of the amazing jobs they have done on other models and this being an early wave model, they should have another go at this one.

No, they'd be fine with it because it's in the holy original trilogy where absolutely nothing was done wrong, ever, and it is completely infallible in every single way shape or form.

oh and legends was perfect too.

Nebulon-B Frigate.

Of course, in a narrative setting - do what you want, maybe use lambda stats / chewie ability / rebel crew.

Personally id say just do it for games with mates.

I don't think its a viable option for official tournament play. But in casual play, go for it.
