Greetings from the Sands, Evil-Smelling Brother-in-Law of a Camel !
I have not read the document in full yet, but what I have read is most interesting.
Most ideas are cunningly implemented, even (or especially) when i do not agree.
I will test it as soon as possible.
Have you thought of implementing your idea on sahir spells for the spells already existing ?
Thanks and congratulations for the good work.
See You in the Sands.
I didn't intended to change anything that was already updated to 4th edition. I use this system for Sahir spells because it was faster than copying mechanics for every level. I am really confused about your comment about the things you do not agree, clear to clarify ?

Nothing major, just small things I find odd or strange.
An example would be your take on the Khadi Advanced School. I find the unlimited raises on spellcasting test interesting since khadi are supposed to be master of magic. Yet, the attack as a simple action with dagger just seems strange. No bad, mind you, it is just that I would not have made it the same way or would not have thought about it.
Also, please remember that i have not fully read and digested it. Maybe when i had time to think twice about it, i will see it in another way.
See You in the Sands.
The Khadi are immortals beings. I took that after decades, sometimes centuries, of practicing with the knife to partake into their maho rituals, they would have get some mastery with it. It's also a NPC-only school, so I gave them a wider efficience than for the others schools.
I always thought they just messed up on the formating in the Burning Sands book and the bit after the free raise with Jinn Bargining about "The Immmortal Caliph was draconian...You also get a Free Raise when using the Investigation Skill." was the second Rank.
Eh, doesn't matter. Still reading the new pdf and the write ups...have your old stuff from the Alderac forums but you've padded it out if it takes up 90 pages now! Thank You! I missed when you started doing this.
I actually thought to do something simular for one of their old April Fools things, you know the one...
Only did the one school though. Not sure how to adapt it to the new Umi no Koete write up (haven't gotten to that chapter yet). Would need to switch Integrity for Panche (at a higher ranking).

Firearms skill (and associated weapons) is detailed in Imperial Histories .
Edited by Shadow070mniThe Thrane Musketeer School
The Kingdom of Thrane died a terrible death long ago. Ironically, the only Thranes to survive were those outcasts and criminals who did not dwell within its borders. Strangely patriotic and morbid, the surviving Thranes have banded together in several large groups of pirates and mercenaries. They are seemingly determined to send as many enemies as possible to the afterlife to keep their kinsmen company.
Benefit: +1 Agility
Skills: Athletics, Lore: Sailing, Defense, Intimidation, Firearms (Musket), Swordsmanship, any 1 Skill
Integrity: 2.0
Outfit: Musket, rapier, travelling clothes with leather breastplate (treat as light armour), powder horn (15 shots worth), sling bagTechniques:
Rank 1: Keep Your Powder Dry
Thrane musketeers are perhaps the finest riflemen in the world, and relish their reputation for excellence. You never suffer Mishaps when using a firearm (see page 97 of Imperial Histories). You receive +1k0 on all attack & damage rolls made with a firearm.Rank 2: The Secret of D’Ellis
Thrane musketeers practice the rapid reloading style first taught to them by the legendary Merenae expatriate Alphonse D’Ellis. You may reload any firearm governed by a Skill Emphasis, in which you have at least 3 ranks, in Simple Actions rather than Complex. This does not alter the number of Actions required, only their type.Rank 3: A World Away
Distance is nothing to a Thrane marksman. By aiming for one round (as a Complex Action), you can increase the range of any firearm you are wielding up to Double it's normal range.Rank 4: Barrage Fire
A true musketeer aims and fires in one fluid motion, never failing to strike his target. You may make attacks with firearm weapons for which you have an Emphasis as a Simple Action.Rank 5: The Eye of the Needle
A musketeer never misses his target. You may spend a Void point immediately re-roll any failed attack roll made when wielding a musket. You may re-roll only once per failed attack, and if the re-roll misses, the attack has missed.
Interesting concept, but always be wary of a technique that allows any weapons to be used with simple actions, it goes against 4th edition's limitations on technique.
Agreed, but given the reload time, even with Skill Mastery and these school benefits it still takes 2 Simple actions (1 Turn) to reload. Not as damaging to the 'action ecnomy' as it first appears.
...Wait that is the old version, without the firearms only clause or rank 5...give me a minute.
EDIT: Ok should be fixed now...now culling older draft from the file to avoid this sort of thing.
Edited by Shadow070mniMuch better balanced like this.
BTW I'm working on the Ivory Kingdoms part of my guide, but I'm procastinating to do others projects just now.
Fair enough, I'm looking forward to it.
