I don't know if this will be much use to anyone but it must so easily occur.

After breaking my core set cr90 I bought myself another (although I have fixed both now).

Yesterday I managed to break the other one too so I decided I might as well post how I did it to help

anybody else who had suffered the same thing.

Tools I used:

Wire cutters

Hand drill with 1.5mm bit

1mm/1.5mm wire

Superglue(in a gel form is the best)

First I drilled the broken part out of the stand...

Then I did the same with the ship, trimming off the broken part with a knife. Don't drill to hard and fast, as you may go through the other side.

I then cut a 1cm piece of wire and superglued it into the hole...

I then waited several minutes before superglueing it to the stand. You need to hold it in place for at least 30 seconds to allow the glue to set.

If the wire is too long then drill abit more out of the stand.

I managed to supeglue it the wrong way around but the glue hadn't set so it was easily mended.

I hope this can be of some use.

Get yourself a bottle of Zip kicker. It accelerates the cure time of all super glues. It may help for future projects of this kind.

Just don't touch glue to any surface after a coating. I have glued the superglue tube to my fingertip that way.

Tried and tested pinning there; that joint should last forever. Reminds me of pinning the arms on ridiculously bulky warhammer models!

My tip for people would be to use paperclips for the wire as they have rigid straight sections and can usually be found for free

The thing was I needed something that was a similar size to the original part as I have mislaid

my pin vice. The wire was actually free as it was part of an old coat hanger.

You can use a tooth pick in a snap in the same way.

I did think of that but I thought that if the toothpick broke then it would be a difficult task to remove it. Which is why I used wire.

Yes sorry about that . Yesterday I was reading about a "broken" glad. The title is a bit deluding.

Best way I found to get the broken bit out of the stand is to use a heated pin. Heat pin ( using forceps or pliers to hold) until it glows red stick pin into the broken end stuck in base, blow on it for a couple of sec and extract....

You can then pull the broken bit off the pin, clean the broken ends and super glue it back on, good as new.
