Wave 2 Armada presents a very complete and robust game with a lot left to explore

By WWPDSteven, in Star Wars: Armada

Maybe people want news now to start their six-month timers in anticipation of the real release. The longer there's no news, the more delayed the real six month wait will be...

I agree with your Steve, but for one reason only..........I have over 60 tie fighters of various flavors to paint

I have heard a rumor that the delay is because actual Christopher Walken plays Armada and will be on the next podcast.

Wait, that last IFF episode didn't have Walken in it?

Thanks dudes- IFF new episodes coming soon! We've all been scattered to the winds after the Flesh Star Destroyer got hit by an ion cannon.

You can't stop the friction, even on a Flesh Star Destroyer.

How do we fight an enemy we do not understand? Until scientists understand friction, we just cannot fight it.

What science must understand, is that to fight friction, one must get down with victims. It is postulated that we both know we need them.

Ion Cannons do not concern me Admiral. I want podcasts, not excuses... :-D

The powa of the ion cannon is insignificant in the face of this podcast.

I just laughed unnecessarily hard at work. thanks for that!

Dudes. We have a lot of things we'd like to talk about on the IFF, but is there anything you guys would like to hear us opine endlessly on?

Looking forward to the next one, whatever you guys decide to talk about, but here are a few of my ideas off the cuff...

How wave 2 has changed objective choices during fleet composition for both factions.

Aces V Generic squadrons

When to take the more expensive ship variant? Some are obvious (CR90/TRC, ISD2, NEB Escort Yavaris) but others may make for interesting discussion.

Which upgrades did you expect to shine in wave 2 that are underperforming, which ones are coming out of nowhere to be champions?

State of faction balance.

What is this game missing? Not from a lore perspective, but from a gameplay perspective, what ship role's would you like to see in the future for each faction.

Activation advantage.

I want to hear your views on the 2-3 supership lists (and possibly mass squadrons) vs. small ship spam.

Specifically, the interaction with maneuvering (and how it greatly assists things like Demolisher) and how it changes the objectives you would be willing to play when you are on either end of that.

Y'see this lightsaber was your Dad's... and he hid in the one place... he knew the empire wouldn't find it...

Dag nabbit! You beat me to it!!!!

I would love to hear IFF talk about:

- List building in the tub: wave 2 style

- Admirals in wave 2, an appraisal of each and the builds that work really well for them

- Battle reports / tournament updates and the 'meta' (including large ship super-builds with 2 activations)

Please stop begging for news and go fly some spaceships. It will come when it comes and it will be glorious, but Armada is selling well, people are playing it, and FFG isn't dropping it. Wave 8 X-Wing is about to come out and that has probably held up their supply lines pretty seriously. Chill, and go test!

Why do you assume that those of us who have begged for news have NOT been flying spaceships? Some of us are starting our 5th month of Wave 2 being in hand. (Massing at Sullust was beginning of October 2015). Try to understand that other people's opinions are valid. Telling people to "go test" implies that they don't play the game or something. Some of us play a lot. Some of us have built hundreds of lists between then and now.
