My Theory...

By Rocmistro, in Star Wars: Armada

Ok guys, in light of all these threads about FFG-no-Armada-news, I have a theory. I think they are prepping for a big release. A huge release. A non-standard release, that is to say, not part of a "Wave".

So i'm calling it now: I think the next Armada release will be some kind of Wave 2.5 Super Star Destroyer release. I think (hope) it will be a campaign type thing, and they've been play-testing it furiously and getting production ramped up.

No.

Just no.

The online betting companies would have a field day, if they took bets on what would be in Wave 3 ;)

Please. You think too small.

Wave 2.5 is the actual Death Star itself. It's a massive floating sphere with a 18' surface area, and you have to play the game with your models actually using the surface of the death star as the play area. It's supported by an electromagnet (which is what is taking all the time to produce), and if you lose, your opponent gets to vaporize you with the built-in laser at the end of the game.

Its actually Death Star for the Imps and those HUGE Ions cannons (from Hoth for the rebels.)

There will also be a G Lucas card that allows you to change original game results when recording them digitally.

Funniest. Post. Ever.

I lol'd with many lols.

Well, according to THIS splash announcement sent out to retailers last night, looks like Wave 3 IS going to be a big one. Frankly, I'm astonished they've managed to keep it so quiet for so long. But super-excited, though.

You are a reprehensible human being, and you should be covered with duct-tape, put up with it being forcibly removed, and then have your quivering remains be fired into the Sun.

Have a Nice Day. :D

*Mwah*

Sweet!

I will expect all your apologies in a Jimmy Fallon "thank you notes" style when I am proved right :-D

Oh hox, you devilish bastard ;)

My brother and I, were talking about rolling the Armada forum, last night. Good timing.

I cannot believe I fell for that. Look at what you've reduced me to FFG.

I calculated that a Death Star model in scale with the ISD would be about 8m 6cm long.

I calculated that a Death Star model in scale with the ISD would be about 8m 6cm long.

To get an 18' surface area for a legal armada play area, you would need about a 1.2' radius Death Star via 4 * pi * r^2 for the surface area of a sphere (so only about 2.4' wide, totally transportable!). This idea gets better and better.

I have a theory.

It could be bunnies.

Not sure what your using for numbers, but I get the DS1 at just over 15m (50') at the same scale as the Armada ISD model.

The DS2 would be more than 20m in diameter (66').

Jhox I don't even know you and I could smell that Rick Roll from a mile away. Classic.

Heard the plan was for a super star. But after episode 7 they choice to make the planet starkiller base instead.

It will be a Star Wars Rebellion cross over effect into Armada and Imperial Assault hehe
