At last a proper length MC 80 Home One
+26 cm length version
+45cm length version
I can settle for the +26cm version as it is the only of the two that is available in FUD.

According to wookiepedia the mc80s were 1200 metres long, 400 metres smaller than an ISD (which was 1600 metres).
This means they wouldn't be in scale with the FFG ISD anyway (not that scale particularly matters).

And if you bothered to do the math, the hangerbay doors size should match a Lampda class shuttle's aprochimate height of 20m.
As the FFG model has 2mm high hangerbay doors, and the model is about 180mm long, 1mm = 10m. Means that the Home One should be at least 1800m long, hence an MC 80 is at least 200m longer than an ISD.
Who ever person that decided that all MC80 cruisers is only 1200m long should retake his or her math exam.
And anybody else out there insisting that all MC80 cruisers is only 1200m long...
...Well they can just KMW (Kiss My Wookiee)
Actually, the Home One was 3200m long so unless you have a 16" model it's off.
Each cruiser was supposedly custom made. So yes, some are bigger than others.
And yes, this is a really stupid idea, because assembly lines and standardization of consumables and spare parts don't improve productivity and maintenance costs at all.
Also, back in the 80s they had to use different physical models for different shots. Scale can get messed up (see Tector star destroyer)

Ah, you got me! Actually I was just doing the same thing with my ISD (CR90 fitted into the hanger, cr90 = 129m long, hanger on model = 25mm long ,model Isd= 250mm long so therefore 10x129 = 1290metres). So there you are, I was actually wrong.
Oh god don't start this again.
Eject, eject !!!!!!

I dont care. My future new FUD toy will be 6cm longer than an ISD
Then a voice came from the kitchen:
Ahem! Its not the size of the toy that matters honey, its how you use it.
Mom will you just...I'm trying to be a nerd in private... ah...never mind...

Man! That big? I feel smaller all the time.

Remember, sliding scale.
Here I thought this was about the actual size Home One.

Has anyone mathed out what the sliding scale is? How linear is it?

Per StarWars.com's Databank the size of Home One is 1200m not 3200m. I know in the movie it seems bigger, but the canon length is 1200m so that's the size FFG used.

It's an artistic thing, any model has to look "right" when compared to the next largest, or smallest.

And Jar Jar was a good idea, so that shows how valid the "official" site is.
The Mon Calamari made lots of different sizes of these ships. I think these Shapeways would be great if you had multiple ships. It represents the rag-tag capital ships of the rebellion. They just made what they could get. Plus, the Home One was a different size compared to the regular MC80, so you can really just use any size and it will do, as long as it's big!
And Jar Jar was a good idea, so that shows how valid the "official" site is.
The databank says nothing about how good of an idea Jar Jar was. It simply lists stats, and those stats are official. That's the site run by LFL, so it is a valid source of information.
Feel free to disregard them if you wish, but FFG doesn't have that same freedom. It's the same thing with the A-Wing in X-Wing, the A-Wing is properly scaled at 9.6m, which is the canon size. You can argue that's not the correct size per RotJ, but in Rebels seems to be using the canon 9.6m size.

Wookiepedia updated with the new size..
So at the 1200m, I find it fine. I wish it was Empire at War sized though.

That's from StarWars.com the official site run by LFL/Disney. The issue is, like the A-Wing the canon size doesn't seem to match up with on screen measurements.
I'm not going to get into a debate about if the onscreen measurements are correct or not, but the canon size is the canon size. If someone doesn't want to accept canon size that's up to them. But as I said above, that's not a freedom that FFG has.
Edited by VanorDMI don't care much for the 'canon size', but if it makes it look like it actually is a large ship , then fair play.
It's a little on the expensive side, but if I were to play the Rebels I'd absolutely get Mel's Home One.
I do wish they made it much wide like it looks opinion the movies. The cucumber look is sad and show FF was more interested in saving money it seems in materials and packaging. Very unfortunate.
