Lieutenant Colzet under used?

I flew Lieutenant Colzet with ATC+Title along with Darth with ATC+Title, Stealth Device (although will prob get Hull/Shield upgrade next) and swarm tactics, with 40 pts left to spend on others (I ran a basic firespray with HLC).

I realise the standard build with Darth is for him to be a lone ace with EU/VI or Pred, but I only play for fun and I don't have EU.

I just wondered what others thought of playing Colzet as he finished off two ships for me due to his 'spend the target lock' ability (got lucky with first card with direct hit, and then got blinded pilot which saved a ship from dying and killing this his ship next turn before he could fire). I don't think I've ever seen him played before. Did I just get lucky with him?

I've never run him myself but his ability seems like it can be helpful. I would be more inclined to run him with FCS so that you can mod your hits and grab another target lock for his ability.

Not very competitive, but EXTREMELY trollish....

If you can get Palpatine in with Wampa and Colzet, it's win all the way.

Roll attack for Wampa, swith to a Critical if needed, then Colzet converts it.

Colzet fires last and is able to get a Target Lock regardless of his action that round, or even if unable to perform an action. Even if you have to shoot unmodified, you'll have a TL available. This allows you to barrel roll or evade.
Vader is tough to hit, he can tank up or dish it out.
Whisper is just Whisper, deadly from the start.
Suggestions for upgrades might be a TIE/fo to gain access to Juke, which would go nicely on Vader, and if possible an Accuracy Corrector for Colzet.

I think with all the VI Poe ships, it'd be far better to go with VI Vader and Agent Kallas on Whisper.

I'd also put Engine Upgrade on Vader and give Whisper Advanced Sensors.

That does make Vader less potent, but helps get past crappy green dice, which are the bane of my existence!!

Just my 2cents though.

Engine Upgrade is a no-go, the OP doesn't have access to it.

Poe only has a boost to compensate, with practice that can be anticipated and handled in the planning phase, so VI becomes less mandatory.

Out of interest was I playing Colzet correctly with ATC? I was using the ATC for his primary weapon attack and then disposing of the target lock at the end phase - I assume this is ok?

@ HarryFel - I like your crit troll'in list. I was running my own crit list a couple of weeks back with RAC - Pred/Merc Co-pilot/Moff + Darth in Tie Adv - Title/ATC/Pred + Wampa. It did quit well.

@ Dagonet - I'm liking your list. Think I'll give that a go next week =)

I understand why everyone wants to Run COlzet with FCS, but you use his ability 2-3 times throughout a game, so i find AC to be way better, allow him to do more consistant damage...

Turns when theres a damage card to flip TL, otherwise use his PS to Block with BR or turtle with Evade of Focus.

i also find him as a flanker hilariously fun, grab a TL take him a few turns around the fight until he flips a crit, and cripples a ship, then hard turn him in to the battle and reacquire that target lock. and deal that constant 2 damage threat.

as for OP: I firmly believe ATC is wrong on PS 6 or lower, anything less than that it becomes a crapshoot of "will you still be in arc when i shoot" or "Do i even have range to TL my main Target because they havent activated yet"

Played this in a winter kit tournament last weekend. Got 3rd only because my dice abandoned me in the second game.

I mainly suggested FCS because I wanted to keep my list possible with what the OP currently has available. I agree that AC would be a better fit.
