Omega Leader: VI or Juke?

Struggling a bit with how to build Omega Leader for a tournament this weekend.

List as it stands:

Omicron

Palpy - Sensor Jammer

Soontir

PTL - AT - Title - SD

(I'm also taking opinions on swapping this with a 35 point Vader)

and then the audible:

Omega Leader

Comm Relay - SD - (VI or Juke)

So, based on the list above, can anyone help my internal conflict?

I like the idea of VI, as it brings OL to 10 and gives him the jump on Soontirs and Poes, both of which he's extremely deadly to.

I like the idea of Juke, as it's relatively easy to hang on to the evade, and it makes his offense that much more likely to punch through. Useful on pretty much all lower PS ships, and still great against Soontir/Poe, IF I CAN KEEP THEM IN ARC. Which, against a good player, should be exactly what they don't want.


... I tend to play the shuttle aggressively, so I could try to block the aces that way, reducing the need for VI... But...

Gah, I just can't decide. I've flown him both ways and enjoyed how both have flown, but have yet to put it up to a gauntlet like I'll see at the tourny.

Thoughts greatly appreciated!

Juke can be just as effective against Soontir/poe/vader as VI, based on the idea that if he has them TL'd its a guaranteed amount of hits, but even if he has someone else TL'd (maybe needed to restock his Evade token from Comms Relay) it would make them need to save their tokens for defense as opposed to offense.

I don't see how its even a debate. Juke all the way. Who cares what his PS is? He basically can't be harmed by those aces and creates a 'no-fly' zone for them (as they try to stay away from him). Use that to your advantage to kill their ace with your other ships...

I don't know why I'm thinking of it now, but the higher PS really isn't as useful as it is on, say, Vader - no EU. Barrel rolls aren't great at keeping the arc dodgers in arc, even IF I move after them...

Alright. I'm thinking Juke (which is how I played it last night). I'm still interested to see dissenting opinions, though!

Juke+Comms Relay is so incredibly good on him, I don't think VI brings the same amount of value.

Flown him both ways, it really is no contest unless you don't have that last point.. then it's crack.

I must just be defective then, as I was really struggling with it.

But I haven't playtested enough with Omega Leader to really get a feel, I suppose, just a match here and there the past two weeks.

Juke/Comm Relay all the way. I remain convinced that this expansion was entirely designed to release that exact combo.

I mean, you COULD argue conceivably for VI/EU/Comm Relay and you might have a point, as a PS10 arcdodger with sloops against whom dice cannot be modified is hilarious, but it's a lot of points to sink into only two dice even with the lack of defensive mods, which Juke fixes effectively.

Stick a stealth device on him if you regularly see two- or three-ship lists and you trust the rest of your list to keep the others off his back.

If there's any pilot built specifically for comms/ juke it's OL.
