Same here... Triple VSDs is actually a very strong basis for stuff here.... I won with my ISD-I and Double vic over the weekend (and there was video proof!)
Let's do this thing wave 3
I reckon we all just need to enjoy the fact that our wallets won't be getting emptied for several more months yet!
To be honest, I'm actually quite enjoying the suspense! I'm getting along fine with buying more wave 2 every so often.
Maybe this is part of FFG's plan so that we are buying more wave 2 rather than feasting our eyes hungrily on what wave 3 has to offer.
Call it entitlement, call it the Greater Internet Fu**wad Theory...
For those of you that don't know the exact equation: http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1166/1226104401_4d38f19fe4.jpg
I'd like news, I'd like new stuff but I also have not yet been able to save up for the big wave 2 ships yet ( and only 1 of you guys donated 10 to my jokey gofundme
I gota raider and rogues and villains now, may be able to get mc30 later this week if things work out) and would prefer they work things out and make sure stuff works well and needs only minor balance tweaks in the time from anouncement to release.
probably they want to play their design cards close to their chest and rather than excite us with things that they may need to scrap leaving us to ask WHAT HAPPENED TO X? I WAS SO EXCITED FOR X GIVE US X make sure that what they show us matches closely with the eventual product. like how there where some discrepancies with the point costs in cards that we could see during anouncement and what we eventually got in the expansions.
I don't mind waiting for news or the release, plenty to do in wave 2.
My one fervent hope is they release Liberty and that she has mainly forward firing guns. Flying in circles is so boring. Liberty and 2 MC-30's would be the nuts :-)

Totally agree. Definitely want a Liberty in wave 3...

This one's missing Lyr's copy paste, I think the community has achieved their goal.

*sigh*
... maybe if we make 1 more wave 3 thread they release news, WE WOULDN'T KNOW UNLESS WE TRIED ! ( feel free to copy this argument into any future threads)

I am not too sure you have this right, I want my wallet emptied and wave 3 ships to be delivered to my house. As soon as FFG is ready I say go for it!
What I don't want is for my expectation to be that wave 3 will be available in May/June and it isn't delivered until Nov/Dec.
I would like to see this game go down the lines of a Living Miniatures Game and release few ships more often than we have right now.
The longer the time between previews and release means I can save up. I now own 2 or 3 of everything. There is absolutely nothing to buy. That said, I buy a good number of board games so if they say, "Next month, new crap!" I'll probably shrug and keep to my thought out list of stuff I'm buying.
Yeah, I've budgeted up til June.

I think you have hit on something here that gets overlooked a bit in these "Where is wave 3?!" threads. One of the things most of us love about this game is the overall balance it has achieved. As more ships and more upgrades come into play, the development time required to maintain that balance can become an issue. It's like what happens with computer games all the time. Rather than ensure everything works right before release, games come out buggy and imbalanced. Eventually they get fixed with patches (not always). Everyone is so impatient for the game they have been waiting for to come out, that they get what they asked for, a rushed product. I for one would rather Armada never be a rushed product, and remain an extremely balanced, unbroken game. I would like for them to never need to release "aces" packs that are obviously designed to fix ships that no longer are playable. If that means more time between waves, so be it. Release a good, quality, finished product and I'm a happy guy.
I'll admit that an occasional article wouldn't hurt, and might serve to settle the natives, but there is enough content from 3rd parties (Twitch stream of games, IFF, etc.) to satiate me.
I would like FFG to let us know a projected date of a Armada news release, however they may be quiet just so that we will post these things to keep us talking and therefore engaged...
+1 for Stasy's post.
I'd like to add that yes, I agree there are many combinations, but few optimal combinations.
What I'd really like from wave 3 (apart from more plastic crack or "Prack" ©) is some creativity with the mechanics to breathe life into existing hulls.
There are tons of clever things that can be done via upgrade cards to provide variety and flexibility without having a glut of "just slightly different" hulls!
Imagine an upgrade card that allowed you to change your anti-squadron to red dice, or one that allowed you to discard an evade token for a brace (raider..) or one that allowed you to permanently add 1 speed at the cost of hull points (Victory?)
There is also room for multi-faction capable ships like the dreadnaught, which could be exciting.
I've been very excited to hear news of wave 3 and check in every day, lets just say I've been doing A LOT OF PAINTING to stave off my Prack cravings
I like that Wave 2 upgrades helped the CR90 finally find a place in my lists, and hopefully Wave 3 will have upgrades that keep older ships competitive too.
That's a cool idea about the Dreadnaught! There could be one model with both reb and Imp cards.
Who said there was going to be a wave 3?
