I don't need a preview this week, next week or the week after.

FFG were on fast-forward for too long. It's refreshing to play with the ships that have just been released.

There's a Goldilocks Zone for preview articles, not too early and not too late. Hopefully, FFG will find the sweet spot.

It's about time they reveal punishing one's dial. And Boba Fett. And Att- something something card. Amazon merchants seem to indicate that wave VIII ships will be released this 17 Feb.

I'd have to start seriously practicing a non-wave 8 store championship list, which would be sad. I'm tired of Corran and wave 8 has at least two list archetypes that shred him like paper. But if wave 8 isn't out I'll probably have to fly him again.

I would be irked but unsurprised; my real hope was to get the JM5k and Mist Hunter last week so I could prep and submit my list for a tourney this coming Saturday, but since that deadline has already been missed, I guess I'll just wait it out patiently. Well, not patiently.

I'm super curious about the JumpMaster dial. I'm obviously keen to get a preview of the other upgrades, but the dial is going to have the biggest impact on what I do with it. (And how well or otherwise it works with Unhinged Astromech.)

I personally wouldnt notice nor care if the first time i saw the contents of a ships pack was the day i bought it.

Its nice to know what ship is coming out and roughly its role but knowing *everything* about it before i even open it up takes a lot of the enjoyment away from it for me so i rarely look at spoiled stuff.

I do find it odd when people are stressing about lists for stuff that wont be out for six months and ignoring the stuff that came out that week because its 'old hat' and discussed to death by the time it gets to the stores.

I really don't care about the ship, but the article publishing means a release date for the wave is set, which means I know roughly what day a hole will get blown in my bank account, and can plan accordingly (read: stock up on tins of beans and live like a pauper with my swarm of TAPs for a few weeks).

I wouldn't mind if they didn't preview, but it would probably stop me pre-ordering. I like to know what I'm buying and how I'm going to use it. It's the reason I've not pre-ordered any TAPs yet; because I want to know what the second generic looks like before I do, because that's the one I most care about. If it doesn't have the cost or slots I want, I probably won't get any TAPs. If it does, I'll probably wind up with 3 at least.

I tend to preorder one of anything anyway , im as much a collector of them as a gamer i rekcon.

I play a lot of xwing but i do like having at least one of each ship. If something then suits my style and i like what it comes with then I buy another or two.

Like the 'rebels' wave doesnt really grab me so i'm probably only ever going to have one of each even if the jumpmaster came with a 0 point range 3, 8 attack dice cannon upgrade because i like play alongside mates so the competitive 'meta' is irrelevant to us. We just fly stuff we like and make up stories that are fun as reasons for the battle.

I get a lot of people *dont* play like that but its a lot less stress when you do

Nothing is 'broken' , noting needs a 'fix' and you're not waiting six months for a card in a £16 ship pack so you can keep up with the jones!

Edit: While ive not looked into it too deeply and only know about the 'spoiled' content from reading the odd thread on here and 'imperial veteran' DOES interest me, namely because i like the idea of having 'royal guard' defenders and i'll probably buy two boxs so i can fly an ace and a wingman in the same scheme

In all honesty i would be OK if the only spoilers revealed in preview articles where the models, and names of ships/pilots/upgrades.
I dont mind the full spoilers and the pre-release toying with unreleased material, but I could just as well live without it.
