Shapeways has made some improvements too since I last ordered from them a few years back so I grabbed this baby up... finally.

That is sweet! Did you paint it yourself? I love how it matches the Scyk colour scheme! What quality material did you get? I recently got my first ultra-frosted detail ship, after scrimping the pennies previously. Makes such a huge difference.

I think FFG might make some of these other Hutts, but I had to look at dat Boss in the mirror and realize that this IS an ugly ship, and SCUM has four Large Ships already so I doubt they have this old monster on their list of MUST Make Soon ... if ever.

The other fun fact is that this ship type does have two or three styles that you see often in image searches, so IF FFG makes the **** thing it won't replace this beast from MEL, because the FFG version will look different prolly and be smaller too.

I got tired of waiting for this ship; as far as I am concerned it is needed in a Hutt Fleet about as much as a YT-1300 is needed in a Rebel Fleet.

Thanks for the Positive Waves Star Brah. I just ordered this ship, I should have it in hand in about two weeks. I will post a full article on finishing it, and cover the painting then too; look for that bit of fun here in this topic.

I am pretty hot to get this baby in my Hutt Fleet so I am going to move on it pretty fast as opposed to my more complicated Huge Ship projects.

I don't like that they went with the finned cockpit version. Fins should have been saved for the Krayt, which only has finned versions.

If the print of this is nice (and I am sure that it will) I may buy one or two more and convert some correct K&K's as you linked too. I have seen MELs critter around too so it is a legit version of the beast...

I agree... I have to get it in my hands to decide for sure, but it is in that Aggressor - K-Wing territory base-size wise for sure.

Yeah as stated a few times, I am sure FFG is not going to go this deep into HUTT, Black Sun, and so forth so we have to do it.

FFG is all over da-map running around the STAR WARS world with Dat Mouse, and old nerds like us gotta realize.

This Heavy Fighter (Krayt) is a great new addition to my Hutt Cartel this week. Shapeways has improved their printing for sure now that I have this monster in hand, and it is nice to see how clean their FUD models are!

I'll post some more detailed pictures laters...

I have to say, the reason it has flaps is because I didnt want to do the Krayt so I gave the Kimogila the flaps as a compromise.

I dont really like the design of the Krayt, the engine or the cockpit. But if I ever do it I will take out the flaps of the kimogila.

I like the flaps... but if you are going to do another version; do it soon because I am getting one or two more of these beast next month.
