What is a good build for a YT-1300 and YT-2400?

By rebelscum4life, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I have been recently flying a YT-1300 with a Blue Squadron B-wing and a Rebel Op HWK-290. Has been fun and have had decent results with that squad. But, I recently got my hands on a YT-2400 and want to pair it with my YT-1300. Would really like to hear your guys ideas on a good build?

Here is what I came up with so far...

100/100

YT-1300

Chewbacca (42)

Lone Wolf (2) or Elusiveness (2)

Gunner (5)

Jan Ors (2)

Millennium Falcon (1)

YT-2400

"Leebo" (34)

HLC (7)

Dash Rendar (2)

Outrider (5)

Ran Chewbo for a while last year and came in 2nd at a store championship. I feel determination is a must on Leebo, it's so good.

PILOTS

“Leebo” (48)

YT-2400 Freighter (34), Lone Wolf (2), “Mangler” Cannon (4), Recon Specialist (3), Outrider (5)

Chewbacca (49)

YT-1300 (42), Predator (3), C-3PO (3), Millennium Falcon (1)

I like that Leebo a lot. The extra focus token combined with Lone Wolf rerolls makes it pretty durable, as well as accurate on the offense. No HLC, but no doughnut hole either.

Chewbacca is nothing special here. I really want to put an Engine on it, but it'd come at the cost of the title, or some other upgrade that's almost too good to chop. C-3P0 and Predator make it reliable, even in the stress filled meta.

The last 3 points is kind of a matter of taste. If you value maneuverability, you can cut the title and add an Engine Upgrade. If there's a ton of stress in your meta, you can stick Kyle Katarn on Chewbacca for laughs, in which case he pretty much scoffs at Stress inducing ships. Ion Pulse Missiles, Dash Rendar, heck, even Ion Projectors or Tactical Jammers if you think you can position yourself to use 'em.

You can also upgrade Leebo to Dash with your remaining points, making it easier to fly and to keep Lone Wolf active, but then your crit dealing turret will fire before Chewbacca, who you want to eat the shields first. So that's a choice between ease of flight and properly applying critical hits to hull.

That's awesome you got 2nd, gives me some hope lol. I have also done some research and Determination does sound like an awesome upgrade for "Leebo", I don't have that card yet though /: this will also be my first time running just two ships, been running three minimum, so a little worried about my strategy. I am going to try to keep my 1300 upfront and keep the 2400 to the rear/ outside closer to the boarder. Does that sound like a good formation, or would you recommend something different?

This also looks like a good build! I would for sure go with the pilot swap for Dash, would like to try out his ability! The only bad thing is, I don't have "Mangler", Predator or C-3PO /: I actually wanted to use Predator, C-3PO or R2-D2 (crew) but haven't go ahold of them yet. I went back and tried a different approach where the 1300 would be a huge support ship for my 2400. Based on the cards I have, This is what I got.

Chewbacca (51)

Draw their fire (1)

Gunner (5)

Jan Ors (2)

Millennium Falcon (1)

"Leebo" (49)

PTL (3) or Recon Specialist (3)

HLC (7)

Outrider (5)

The Plan is that Chewbacca has the highest total hit points and reduces crits to hits, so I gave him draw their fire to help out "Leebo". I gave Chewbacca Jan Ors so "Leebo" could use PTL to use two actions such as barrel roll and focus, allowing "Leebo" to turn his focus into evade if needed. Chewbacca has the Falcon upgrade so he is already covered if he needs an evade. And of course HLC and Outrider on the 2400 lol. The only thing I am hesitant about is gunner on Chewbacca, Should I swap gunner for Dash (crew) with "Leebo"? What do you guys think? Oh and I was also debating PTL versus Recon Specialist, both seem pretty effective when paired with Jan Ors. But if I did Recon, I couldn't swap Gunner for Dash (crew) on the 2400... Hmmmmm

Or something like this....

Chewbacca (49)

Draw their fire (1)

Jan Ors (2)

Recon Specialist (3)

Millennium Falcon (1)

Dash (51)

PTL (3)

HLC (7)

Outrider (5)

I won a small tournament once with Chewbacca/Predator/C3P0 plus Leebo/Predator/HLC/ReconSpec.

Mmm I see what you did there. Took away Falcon upgrade, since Recon gives you two focuses and one can be changed into an evade anyway (so Falcon Upgrade is not really needed) and gave a few extra points for Lone Wolf... I like it! I think I am going to give it a shot this Thursday, ill let you know how it goes. right on for the input, big help because I am fairly new to X-Wing.

I will for sure try out Chewbacca with Predator and C-3PO when I get a hold of those cards. That seems like a great build!

I'm not saying that it won't work now but the meta has significantly changed with TLT and such. The list I used was Chewie w/ Predator, Experimental Interface, Lando, Numb, MF title and Leebo w/ Determination, HLC, Outrider title. The way you described flying sounds good.

Another evasive Falcon is:

Han Solo

-PTL

-Kanan crew

-Recon

-title

With a friend with Jan Ors nearby.

So you Evade with one action and focus (for 2) with the other, giving you 2 evades and a focus to use with your auto-reroller Han.

Han YT-1300 (63)

- PTL

- Chewbacca

- Gunner

- Millennium Falcon

- Engine Upgrade

Kyle HWK-290 (37)

- Veteran Instincts

- Twin Laser Turrets

- Recon Specialist

- Moldy Crow

- Stealth Device

Or

Jan HWK-290

- TLT

- Recon Spec

- Moldy Crow

Han does most of the damage while the HWK hangs back, gets a few range 2-3 shots here and there with TLT, but mainly supports Han. It works pretty good!
