I'm horrible at flying them but they are pretty fun and really effective in the right hands.

I don't understand why the brobots are so popular
If that list hasn't been murdered by every pair of brobots you've encountered, either you've been incredibly lucky or you're a God-tier level player. The best you can say for it in that matchup is that the Y-Wings kind of make Iggy-B's ability redundant.Boba Fett & Friends (99)

This was the list I used last night. I like it.
The Y-Wings are quite bad, but Boba has PS and boost on his side. I'd say if the Brobot player isn't too good you have a shot with this list. More interesting would be the Brobots he faced, maybe that is a bit more enlightening.

But Boba's got no defensive tech whatsoever other than his pilot ability. So the Aggressors only need to get, what, four shots on him? Five? Even if this list gets lucky and kills a Brobot in that time, I'd fancy the second IG to solo two Warthogs.

I think this list is so popular because its kinda like a slither tribal deck in magic the gathering. The option to share abilities between pilots will always attract fans.
I love TLT BTLA4s. An Engine Upgrade is defensive tech on a Firespray, anyway. A fast, arc dodging, rear firing ship with Gunner is pretty decent anti-bot gear.
