They are a high skill cap list. When flown correctly they generally murder anything they move after. You just haven't played against anyone that really knows how to fly them well yet.

I fear the bots.

8 hp behind 3 green (plus Authothrusters and often an Evade token) You do realize that's the most HP on a 3 Agi ship right? If Brobots die easily, then so does anything else in the game.

The best green dice are green dice you don't have to roll

that's the reason why arcdodgers have greater life expectancy xD

even though they can have 3 Hulls, 2 hulls+2shields, 3 hulls+2shields... behind 3-4 dice and a tokenstack...

Brobots are pS6 big ships, they have to S-loop woop-woop to just keep target in sights...

They are not an "I'm gonna net-deck and win" list.

They do require skill, and practice, to play well.

Their biggest weakness is that they cannot move slowly. They're like sharks.

They engage, disengage, and re-engage, and have great speed and agility to make up for their inability towards precision and nimbleness.

So, don't box with them.

Do strafing runs. At weird angles, as you can flank as easily as attack head on, in just about any board position.

Hard to find something more durable than 3 agi + thrusters. With stims it's just gl to you

they were good when there were only 2 ships to shoot at on the board but now that there is a lot of 3,4,5 ship lists out there flying around many with higher PS they are not doing as well as they once did. With all the stress list that are becoming very popular they are going to struggle going forward. stress is the main reason why I never saw them as a strong ship get 2 on them and they are nothing more then a shuttle.

They can be made to have good action economy, they can hit pretty hard, they are able to maneuver at weird angles, and they are dodgy.

They are tough ships but they certainly have weaknesses (middle road PS, they don't like asteroids or bumping)... though most people who I have fought who field them are very good and seem to know them inside and out, but that is scary in it's own right.

HLC gunner, especially with fire control system, is the most obnoxious thing since the 3-dice turret primary, on a 3 agility ship that can take autothrusters. Add in the crack shot + glitterstim combo and you can basically end matches in the first round or two of shooting.

It is possible to play them badly, and they are somewhat limited by their pilot skill in some matchups, but they are very strong.

Because they're fun. I took them to my first tournament and I had tons of fun, even with less than optimal loadout. One of the games was pure murder, the others... well, mistakes were made!

It was a blast nonetheless, and now that I have FCS, they'd be even better. I'm not a fan of repeating lists though, so it'll be a while until I bring them out again.

That's all well and good but there are a couple things I would take issue with you on.

First, don't go there with your insinuated "dirty" net list comments. Using two Aggressors with the IG 2000 title and loading them up is precisely how these ships were designed. Certain choices are very obvious to even a newb. Granted, if you see a newb with Autoblaster equipped kindly give them some better advice but that's aside from the point.

Second, large base ships handle very differently than small base ships and the only way to learn is to start practicing. Why shoo people away from using IG88's just because they are large base? Jump in and learn how to fly them. Your inference is that new players won't be able to fly them. Do you know how many brand new X-Wing players I have encountered who have migrated from other miniatures games and picked things up incredibly fast? A lot. A surprising number in fact.

Don't call people's advice stupid. That piece of advice could be completely off for one player but spot on for another. Certain players love to use arc dodgers while others prefer to joust and bring a sledgehammer at you. It all depends on the player.

Yes and no.

More ships on the enemy side means 2 things: each of them has less hp and there's less room to avoid at least one shipbeing caught in the arc of both bots early on.

Brobots love range 3 opening salvos. When you're throwing 4 dice with Gunner (eventually also TL on the 2nd shot if you run FCS) and Crack Shot whileyour opponent is returning fire with 3 dice primaries agains 4 greens with Autothrusters, I find that Brobots will often blow up a ship while receiving negligible (if any) damage in return.

What hurts brobots nowadays (apart from MOV changes in tournaments) is stress (especially range 3 stress) and the proliferation of aces. I run Brobots extensively and can't even remember the last time the majority of my enemy's list WASN'T PS 7+.

However, IMO it still remains the most reliable competitive Scum list.

All of the above is based largely on my experience in my local . While wr run competitive lists, we're not best players in the world so YMMV.

Besides being the only competitive build for Scum & Villainy (not including Thug TLT) it basically replaces the Imperial Buzzsaw Shuttle. Buzzsaw shuttles were ones that made use of boost on large based ships with Engine upgrade and gunner to give them another shot if the first roll was bad. Since all Aggressors have a native boost they can equip autothrusters to give them some help against turret ships.

Also with IG-88 B's gunner effect on cannons and the title that shares them Bro Bots have essentially became Buzzsaw 2.0 however in exchange for a shield and hull they have more firepower with HLC, more maneuverability, and more survivability with 3 agility + autothrusters instead of 1 agility. Sure you could try and squeeze in a 3rd shuttle of some escorts into the classic Buzzsaws but Bro Bots will still tear them apart.
