Rebel Stress ABY

By Carnor Rex, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I've got a day of gaming here shortly and I put this together last minute based on one of my staple lists. Talk me out of it..

Tycho: apex predator- title, test pilot, PS 10, daredevil, experimental interface, prockets 36 pts.

This is a variation on the psycho build I've been itching to try. Ideal for crushing hard on opposing aces and vader meh his mediocre dial will keep him busy. Downside is no AT and a more restricted DD. Thoughts? Anyone used this?

Nera Dantels- deadeye, flechettes, flechettes, guidance chimps 31 pts.

Pseudo turret stress giver. Would like more kit but it cuts into my bid.

Y-wing gold- TLT, r3a2 stressbot, flechettes, flechettes, guidance chimps 30 pts.

A variation of the stresshog. Basically I want to be able to keep pressure up on ships when I can't catch them in arc. Probably trash and the most controversial inclusion but I've been finding the shots from the traditional hog limited at times, like against imp aces. Was thinking this change might be the best of both worlds.. idk. Thoughts on this guy?

Total- 97 pts.

I don't understand why you want PS10 Tycho, and why you need an initiative bid with that? For a few points less, you can just have Jake with prockets at PS9 and a good bid...

I also feel like you are trying too hard for stress dealers here. I feel Nera is only threatening to Soontir and other push the limit users, but maybe could benefit from an actual damage-dealing torpedo...

I DO like stresshog without the BTL-A4 title. Personally, I've never found the 'standard' stresshog to be that powerful, and leaving the turret 360 I think is generally more useful (YMMV).

Thanks for the reply blade. I took it for a spin, found tycho wanting and VI cool but worse than PtL. Nera was meh for her cost and the result.. I got thrashed by a dog fighting fett guri 2 ship list lol. Twice. Then a stinkin firespray double named z95 list. The hog however was solid, totally worth trying again.

Not the best testing grounds since neither cared about stress much but still. I thought it was walk in the park territory initially. Fwiw I was expecting imp aces of some sort.

If you use r3a2 on Y-Wing, it's difficult to take Target Lock for Torpedoes. You also have a lot of stress token. So drop the torpdoes on YWing.

It doesn't build up as much stress as typical version. The idea is to keep the double stress option without losing the flexibility of a turret.

They premise is solid trust me, I just went a little too radical with the rest.
