Palp and aces is a strong imp list, we all know that. However, lately I have been steering away from spending the 30 points on him, and instead going for omega leader or 2 crackshot blacks. That leads me to my question: given the number of really strong 30 point options for imps nowadays, is the Emperor still the go to choice? When do you run with him and when do you leave him in the case??

Yes he's just getting better with wave 8. Electronic baffle will make the shuttle even better than it already is.
He is still very worth it. Just because there are other options doesn't take away the fact that he can be very worth it.
I certainly hope he's worth it. I'm running him with Vader and Fel in a tournament today.

Yeah the cost of a Raider is the biggest drawback that I see. Luckily I got it as my christmas present from my wife. I wouldn't have purchased one for myself because of the cost.

That would have been awful, I mean, sure... it would have been a cheaper way to field him but from a flavor perspective I just hate the idea.
I'm also not convinced it would be better value either. You could save 5 points if you put him in a scimitar but you lose a lot of durability and drop down to 2 attack dice.

I think the price of the raider is worth it to be honest. I may not have the funds always but it was definitely worth it in my opinion

If you took out all 4 of the seats in the TIE Shuttle you could easily fit a badass throne in there, and probably still have space leftover for a sweet cooler.

hey i went 3-1 today and only lost to a Boba/Bossk control gunner list with attack dice on fire who ended up winning going 4-0, i can't count the number of times that 1 dice mod saved my bacon, so YES worth every point
