I remember thinking this was a gimmicky silly card when I first read it. After having three critical shots go awry on the enemy flagship because of him (on three different games of course), I've changed my mind. Personally, I think he is a steal for 4 points, even with the discard. Yes, you may not use him every game, but games can be won or lost based on your flagship getting one last activation. Anyone else having luck/frustration (if your the opponent) with him?

To me, it also really depends what ship he is on. In my corvette fleet, when things die, they usually die pretty spectacularly so it's not like Lando was going to save them. "Okay, so you did 5 damage to the ship with 2 hull left" is not getting saved by a re-roll.
On the other hand, if I have a spare 4 points and I'm running Assault Frigates or MC80s... yeah, that makes sense. It's essentially 1 free super-evade.

100% agree. It depends on the ship. The assault frigate was the one my primary opponent has been using. On something small like the corvette, even re-rolling only the double damage dice still represents a good chance of death.

I think the joy of Lando is that it could. And when it does, that'll be awesome.
Lando is one of the few 'Discard' upgrades that I dig. Paired with a certain MC30 Title, its downright sexy.
I like to picture Lando doing fingerguns to my opponent as I discard him.
"See you later, ladies. Lando OUT."

I picture it as lando doing something gimmicky with the engines that is going to damage them after, like boba triggering his inertial dampeners in "tales of the bounty hunters.
"We're only gonna get one shot at this, hold on to your butts!"
I have been a big fan of his since the first game I used him
He can make MC30s with titles go from "well, thats annoying" to "why aren't you dead already??"
I wish the Empire had someone like Lando, but we're not going to get a great defensive officer I think to prevent ISDs from becoming unkillable.

The Empire does get Admiral Montferrat, though, who's sort-of similar - longer term, but still with a discard.
The Empire should get a mirror to Lando, though - maybe someone that you can discard to, I dunno, add in two extra dice to a single attack or something. I'd pay four points for that.
He's a bit hit or miss... I've played against him once and I've played him exactly once. When I was against him, he turned 7 damage to ZERO (in a critical activation). When I was running him, he turned 7 damage to 7. He's a steal for 4 pts though, especially since I don't normally run many officers on ships.

"Do you feel lucky?"
Lando paired with Admonition on an MC30 Torpedo Frigate makes it waaaay more survivable at close range.
I've been running Wallex with Admonition, getting me another free die-killer. Lando's nice but my diceluck isn't.
I make Admonition with Lando on board my go-to hyperspace assault ship. Put it in front of a large ship for that sweet, sweet double side arc.

Haha, yup, especially screed. He clenches his fist and raises it in the air and screams, "LANDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
