My friends and I had mixed opinions on this, is this legal?
Jake Farrell with PTL
-I take a boost action
-I use PTL
-I take a focus
-I take a free boost
-I receive stress.
Is this legal? If not why?

No, you can't do an action (in this case boost) more than once in the same turn. A free action is simply an action that is not your normal action.

More to the point you can't perform the SAME action more than once per turn.
You can trigger Jake's ability more than once though - i.e by reeiving a focus from Kyle or Garven - just as long as you choose a different action

That's what I was trying to say, but failed.
Just to be clear, the only problem with the process you outlined is that you can't boost twice in the same round; the timing of the effects works fine. If you changed it to this:
Jake Farrell with PTL-I take a boost action
-I use PTL
-I take a focus
-I take a free barrel roll
-I receive stress.
Then that would be perfectly legal. Jake's free action interrupts the effect of PTL, so you can barrel roll before he gets a stress token.

There are many ways to go with this ... Usually, I will:
- Take a focus action
- Take a free barrel roll action
- PTL off of that to..
- Take a boost action
- Receive stress token
With Veteran Instincts, he can get out of arcs or change range,
When flying next to Kyle, he can do the movements are start of combat, adding some fun laughs sometimes..

Put Daredevil on your A-wing as one of Jake's EPT and then he can do a sharp 1 turn take a focus and then boost. If he does a sharp 1 turn maneuver before those actions he's practically doing space doughnuts... no-one will be able to tail him.

Yep. You can't even use PtL nesting to do this, because Daredevil doesn't contain a free action that you can use to trigger Push the Limit before receiving the stress (like, say, Expert Handing does). Even if you could, you'd wind up double stressed, so you wouldn't be able to do it two rounds in a row.
How unfortunate Jake is effected by stress unlike our other A-wing Ace.
I suppose since Jake does have boost and barrel roll. What do you think of outmaneuver as a better fit for Jake.

I still have zero faith in Wired... It's just adding a little bit of hope that I might save him from that amazing attack roll, just to watch him die in a great inferno of doom...
Yeah, I'd rather VI and be out of arc entirely than rely on wired
