I suffer from anti-meta syndrome as well. I am on a quest to find an all-comers list that can compete against anything, but without using the meta staples, like the stressbot, Poe, Soontir, or a PWT, but it has proven fruitless so far. I have also had some frustrating games lately and I am in a bit of a rut. I don't know what to fly anymore and I feel lost in terms of squad building. The meta is so open right now that I never know what I am going to come up against, which is wonderful from an objective view, but frustrating when you want to try to play the meta.

The advice here to sit back and fly what is fun is great, but I guess I am just too much of an X wing hipster, lol.

Yeah, definitely. You build to counter fat turrets and none show up, you build to counter aces and then you have to face a 65 point aggro RAC and Soontir. You counter fire Pokemon with your water ones and someone shows up with electric type Pokemon.

I'm such a hipster that I'm flying a 59 point Imperial Boba at PS 10 at 97 points just to hand VI Poe players the initiative turn zero, and I've considered running countermeasures instead of engine upgrade.

I don't really care about meta greatly since I'm not playing competitively at this moment in time. But on the same notice I don't mind playing what works as long as I enjoy it.

I've flown a staviper backed with ion/tlt ywings, z95 xizor swarms and a little bit of broboba as well.

This just in... I just got 6th place in the Gamecastle Santa Clara Store championships (out of 51) with a non brobot, non TLT Scum list.

I, too, landed 6th with an unconventional list!
