Isn't it time to bring out the major force users on the Rebellion side?

By salnihra, in X-Wing

Obi as a crew absolutely but not yoda he was on dagobah and never helped the rebellion.

Neither Corran nor Leia's ability in game has to do with their Force-sensitivity though.

So that leaves Luke, Kyle, Keyan, Kanan vs Palpatine, Vader, Stele, Mara Jade and the incoming Inquisitor.

Don't forget Carnor!

Rebellion Force Users in the game:

Luke

Kyle

Kanan

Corran

Leia

Imperial Force users in the game:

Palpatine

Vader

There is an imbalance in the force.

It humors me that you're excluding The Inquisitor and Mareek Stele.

EDIT: AND Ezra.

Meh. Listed what I remembered off the top of my head and don't know all of the EU. Looks like I mused 3 imps and 2 rebels so far.

7 to 5 in favor of rebels. Bring on the sith!

Obi Wan totally needs to be a crew card that removes a stress, ion, target lock or tractor beam token from a friendly ship once per round. And also he can be discarded to allow one friendly ship attacking with a missile or torpedo to have all crit results.

Yoda should be a unique upgrade that does not fit into any ship. Instead he costs what ever squad points he ends up costing and having a global effect like giving out a free focus token each round to a friendly ship. Call him a Master Upgrade, only one allowed per side.

"...never aided the Rebellion in combat." Show me where, in A New Hope, Obi-Wan is aboard a Rebel Alliance ship during combat.

Now you're adding additional qualifiers to your statement that you didn't use originally.

He travels in a Rebel ship. He fights the Empire.

He did turn off a tractor beam and we have those now. Discard his crew card to negate a single tractor beam attack. Boom, just like the movie.

You could make it something much less situational, and more suitably powerful for Obi-wan by allowing him to remove any 1 token from the ship he's on.

Tractor beam, stress, red target lock, ion, etc.

I didn't add any additional qualifiers, I clarified, since you were misinterpreting my remarks.

As I said above, I'm aware that my take on how mechanics and flavour should interact is different from other people's, and that being the case, I can't provide anything useful to this thread. I gave my opinion, and I'm gonna bow out now. Have fun. :)

Wanna know what made the x-wing novels so great? They showed a side of star wars that wasn't just a battle of the force, but that of the every day soldier. I love force powers and all that, but honestly don't believe X-wing needs shoe horned forced users. Not every star wars game/movie/story needs a Jedi/sith, and personally the small amount of force users that were pilots or had a large impact to the naval strength have been explored. Personally I hope we never see obi wan or Yoda or any other Jedi that has no real reason to be included outside of "But he be in x movie/show!! He/she got'sta be in X-wing!"

But that's just my two cents.

And like others have said, right now imperials would need more force users before another rebel one.
