We have Darth Vader, we even have the friggin Emperor, so where are the jedi? It is time we get crew cards for Obi-wan and Yoda don't you think?
Any thoughts on what they may/should bring to the table?
Isn't it time to bring out the major force users on the Rebellion side?
The problem with that is that Obi-Wan and Yoda, to the best of our knowledge, never aided the Rebellion in combat. Whereas Darth Vader very much did, and it's much easier to image the Emperor manipulating things from his command shuttle than it is Yoda taking a trip off Dagobah and hitching a ride in a YT-2400...
I love the idea of having these iconic characters as crew, but as a Star Wars fan, I find it hard to justify. I'm torn. :/
Obi Wan: flip this card to remove a stress, tractor or ion token. Flipped side FORCE GHOST Obi Wan once per round any friendly ship may spend a focus token to reroll any number of attack dice instead of its usual effect.
Yoda: you may, or may not. There is no try.
Edited by thespaceinvaderConsidering yoda never set foot in a space ship in the era the game is set it, why would you assume he should be crew?
X-Wing is the Rebel Alliance versus the Empire (versus Scum). Yoda and Kenobi however were pretty much only interested in Luke and had pretty much no involvement with the AtRtR.
I'm with the other people that it may not work in the OT and forward timeframe of the game, but for the heck of it:
Obi-Wan: large ship only, at the start of the combat phase you may discard this card. If you do so, you may not attack and you may not be the target of any attacks.
(The idea is to represent Obi-Wan's plan to hide and launch escape pods in Ep 4)
Yoda: maybe a crew version of a tractor beam?
I could see an Obi-wan card (since he DID ride in the Falcon that one time) but not a Yoda card.
Obi-Wan should absolutely be in the game, as he rode on the Falcon and actively aided Luke in battle (as a ghost).
Yoda would be awesome, because c'mon, who doesn't love Yoda? But, he really never actively participated in anything but training Luke.
Ahsoka Tano is much more probable than Obi Wan or Yoda (especially Yoda).
Yoda: At the start of the combat phase discard any swamp tokens.
Yoda: At the start of the combat phase discard any swamp tokens.
Action: assign this ship two (or three, or whatever) confusion tokens. You may spend an action to remove a confusion token (this can be done multiple times per round) but cannot spend any other actions when you have confusion tokens. Once all confusion tokens are removed, this ship then receives three focus tokens which are replaced whenever they are spent and are not removed at the end of the round.
What about for Obi Wan something like
Ghobi Wan (Ghost Obi Wan)
All ships within range 1-3 may spend a focus instead of a target lock when promted to do so by a munition card.
Not too great but thematic.
No clue about Yoda.
Though Starkiller helped found the rebellion did he not? I could see him being added if they decide to pull some more from the old EU.
Yoda: you may, or may not. There is no try.
So if they miss with r3a2 or tactician the stress doesn't apply.
Yoda: choose a friendly ship at range one overlapping an obstacle. That ship may boost or barrel roll.
I don't want Yoda. Wars not make one great.
Obi Wan: flip this card to remove a stress, tractor or ion token. Flipped side FORCE GHOST Obi Wan once per round any friendly ship may spend a focus token to reroll any number of attack dice instead of its usual effect.

Turning a card over means you're discarding it, as per the rules.

Not if it's double sided (maybe) we don't know what Dual Upgrades might be able to do yet.
But in that case, 'discard this card and replace it with FORCE GHOST Obi Wan for the remainder of the game' would work instead, and give the force ghost the cost '*' indicating that it can't be paid for with squad points.
Obi-wan the first dual face crew card.
Obi-Wan: On anyone attack; You may use this card to re-roll any number of attack dice. Once that is done flip with card.
Force Presence: The next turn when attacking and when defending you may turn any focus dice to either hit or evade. Then discard this card.
7 points?
I think Yoda could be a crew card based on his ability to communicate to other Force sensitive beings (like Kanan, Ezra, Luke, etc). The card's effect should probably grant Focus tokens and/or remove Stress, but would deny other actions when used. Obi-wan's effect could be ditching Tractor Beam, Target Lock tokens like others have suggested.
But I still think Rebels need a Jedi crew card. Maybe just a no name/generic upgrade and it doesn't need to be as powerful as Vader or Emperor... but it should have a 'magical' effect.
Jedi Protector
Rebel Only.
At the start of the Combat phase, if you have no Focus or Evade tokens, recieve one Evade token.

Obi wan - crew - you may take this card even if you have no crew slots available, or the craft cannot carry crew.
May reroll any amount of any set dice, discard after use.

Based on Isard doing something very similar, probably 3 points given that she can work for ships who have some way of getting Evades without spending the action, and gives you an action in combat which is strong.

Do we know that dual upgrades are double sided? And even more so (and this would make sense given the emails about R2-D6 and Integrated Astromechs): currently you can't discard your EPT.
You can lose crewmembers though or other upgrades though, and discarding is now done by flipping the card over.
Obi Wan
Action: remove all red target lock tokens from your ship.
I am all for an entire EPT tree for force users. This is STAR WARS. STAR WARS has powerful force users who can easily influence the result of a single battle.
I am also all for prequel characters (and ships).
Lastly, Yoda is the xwing fix. Little green dude can totally re-position an xwing during the combat phase.
Rebellion Force Users in the game:
Luke
Kyle
Kanan
Corran
Leia
Imperial Force users in the game:
Palpatine
Vader
There is an imbalance in the force.
