In New Orleans they speak French (and some kind of creole/french/southern mix that no one understands
). In southern Florida they all speak Spanish.
That's nothing like Belgium though, where they have three governments: one for each language. And the two main languages despise each other. Belgium is really a product of Frankenstein's fevered imagination.
But still, better that Flanders remains separate from the Netherlands.

Now if you want some dunking, chocolate chip cookies and coffee is hard to beat. Not as nutritious as black pudding but a darn sight better tasting.

But a separate language more closeley related to English.

Somethings that taste good aren't that good for you so everything in moderation. Growing up my grandmother always had a can of lard in the fridge. Probably frowned upon now, but considering all the crap that's allowed in our food today that lard was probably of better quality and safety. I really miss her pirohi or pierogi. The store bought stuff doesn't compare. The ones from the ethnic churches are close but not quite the same.

If anyone likes or uses Zatarains rice dishes here's a quick and easy one. Reduce the amount of water you use by 1/4 cup and throw in a large jar of your preferred salsa. Cook as indicated. I've used it with the red beans, black beans and jambalaya.
When cooking rice, just toss in a cinnamon stick, saffron, cardamom pods or half a lemon.

Its not just the language barriers but the use of context with words, eg:
Americans say that they root for the other team or there rooting for you BUT in Australia root / rooting means having sex, so every time I hear that on a movie its like your doing what with the whole team !
