Question about doors and "inside deployment"

By Helnar, in Imperial Assault Rules Questions

I was wondering about deployment when doors are opened. Is it certain that when a figure opens a door (and thereby finishes his activation, turning it over to the imperial) the deployed characters inside can act instantly? This seems harsh considering the machine gun deployment in Spice Run side mission (Chewbacca) where the machine gun can shoot three times at the figure just opening the door (both assault and optional selection of an extra interrupt selected by the imperial player when the doors are opened), with her massive power. That can easily bring a hero down to wounded in one activation.

I realize this may just be tactics, that is use your first action to open, rest to jump for cover. Just wanted to be sure on this issue.

Once the figures and the corresponding deployment cards are placed on the table, they are able to activate as normally just like any other imperial deployment card.

As you said, it comes to tactics. Don't end your activation in front of the door you just opened, if possible have excess movement through either a move action or any available strain movement to get out of line of sight or increase the distance.

Thank you for the confirmation. Just as I suspected.
