New Descent custom material blog

By DiegoZap, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Hi everyone! I've started a new blog dedicated to my custom Descent creations: from new monsters (mainly inspirated by the Warhammer Fantasy univers) to new heroes, rules, quests and much more.

You can find my blog at this link:

Enjoy :)

You got some interesting stuff there.

First thought is most of the monsters are a bit low of health considering their monster count. Some have nice offense so you might be able to find some places they are useful but most of the time they will drop to fast to be useful.

Second thought is speed 7 might break a few quests. Cannot recall any specifically on the top of my head but I am sure there are few.

Also rather than roll d6 say roll blue die and on a surge do same thing. Its fit in a bit nice with decent.

Last thought, I am hard pressed to think of a single case where I would use vanishing over a simple move. Only case I can think of is if you want to get past a hero block and then due to his turn ending he will be very close to the heroes as he has low health will almost definitely die on their next turn.

Vanishing is pretty cool actually. You can blink through lava/water/elevation and porticullis

Always good to see more content, thanks Diego! :)

First of all sorry for the late answer.

I'll playtest if this is the case and modify the stats, thanks. But consider that these new monsters are meant to be introduce in a new roguelike quest system I'm developing, so there will be much more encounters than in the "usual" descent quests. You can take a look on Boardgamegeek boards in the Variants section for the first version of this Roguelike variant. Thanks again for your suggestion anyway.

The maximum Speed of original monsters is actually 6, and maybe the Skaven need to be lowered a bit in their Speed, BUT this 7 is meant to make them really swarming around the heroes (or to let them flee if necessary), considering their very low health. I'll playtest this too of course.
Stay tuned on the blog for much more content coming, cheers :)
